aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

wolf

Tragedy was not a stranger to Chenzii, and it appeared that it had come to Aurora Borealis once more. But not only to her own pack, but to their ally and friend, Saw Tooth. Her heart ache when she thought about the two lupines that had courageously fought against the invading wolves, and it had not even been for their own pack. It just showed their true bravery for what they had done. Neither of them needed to come and risk their lives, and yet both had and both had paid with their life. Saw Tooth was experiencing enough heartache with the recent loss of Moth, and now their homelands had been destroyed by a fire. It seemed that none of the packs could catch a break right now between invasions of rogue wolves, cougars, and even bears. And now natural disasters like earthquakes and volcanos made it seem like there would be no end to this. The femme’s thoughts were interrupted though as she heard a strong and commanding howl ring through the trees and she recognized the vocals of Hellene.

Chenzii breathed a sigh of relief when she realized that she was calling to set up a pack wide healing for everyone. The whole group that had fought off the invading wolves had suffered injuries, some worse than others. But after they had successfully killed all those that had foolishly come into the territory the group had gone on their own briefly to take a moment to collect themselves before regrouping. But the black female’s injuries were becoming more and more painful as the adrenaline from the fight faded. Her front limb was broken in multiple areas, including her radius and ulna and vessels torn from her shoulder. Luckily no arteries had been hit or she may not be alive now. The bleeding was finally beginning to stop, but her limb and shoulder felt like they were coated in a thick layer of blood. She was light headed and dizzy from the blood loss and her muscles were cramping up from limping and forcing her weight on the three uninjured limbs instead of on all four. But now she had something else to focus on and she began her slow limp to the sound of Hellene’s call.

As Chenzii’s black form pushed through the trees to where Hellene was she saw that Sebring, Kalgalath, and Magic were already there. She nodded to each of the four in turn, panting slightly from the pain of walking with her injured limb, not wasting her energy on speaking. She went to her friend Magic’s side, leaning against her in greeting and for support. Not only support for herself but also for her friend who must be feeling as unhappy as Chenzii felt despite their pack winning the battle. The wolves of Aurora were not the type that enjoyed fighting and killing, and she knew that none of them could be happy with what happened earlier.

“Testing my Reply”
"We were never meant to last," She whispers.
