Dance to a Faerie's Fiddle

She looked at him with a pleasant smile still lingering on her long face. Her long tail swished behind her. Beside her he was silent, basking in his own thoughts while she basked in the morning sun. It was always pleasant, allowing the hot rays to warm her dark flesh. He had a point though, the night also had its benefits. Her daughter had proven that a number of times. It was wonderful for sneaking away, and sneaking back. Though dark, it had the power ignite a fire of mischief, but also a glowing ember of thoughts. So many long nights had been spent deep in conversation with her children. Conversations had led into the depths of their thoughts, ones that surprised her with their wisdom. There are also conversations that led her on marvelous adventures that never seemed to happen, and in many cases could not be possible.

In the night, the stars shined brighter, sometimes they ran across the skies. A race that Taika had called to her mother as she ran, claiming she was going to find where the falling stars were going. The thought brought a smile to the woman’s face. The night indeed did have its own wonders and marvels to itself. Taytim’s dark eyes looked over at the stallion beside her. Even his sullen nature could not tell her shine.

“Yes, the night also does have its great points! Both have their ups and downs I suppose. Each their pleasures. Besides, you cannot have night without the day!” She moved around him, lifting her head into the air and breathing in deep. Once more her tail whipped her flank. “It would get incredibly cold if it were night all the time.”
