Relief flooded her as Cersei confirmed who she was. Alana may not have found Tesseract, but proof of the safety that she had once felt was still a relief. Tense muscles relaxed slightly. She did not know Cersei well as a pup, but she felt like she could trust the younger female. Hopefully her faith in Tesseract’s bloodline would not be misplaced.
Alana’s tail wagged behind her, still held lower than average, but no longer tucked between her legs. Her heart drops, though, at Cersei’s next words.
“Oh,” she began, fairly shocked that they had both disappeared. “Cersei, I’m sorry. I hope…”
Alana paused. She didn’t know what she hoped for the girl.
“I hope you see them again.” Alana hoped that she would see them again as well. There were not many that she remembered fondly from her years here. Tesseract and Caligula were some that she did.
Yellow-green eyes flicked to Cersei again as she spoke, disbelief shining through.
“I have no wish to take you from your home, Cersei,” she said softly, glancing toward the ocean in the distance. The roaring of the waves could be heard faintly. They were as calming as they always were. She wished she could stay, but she could not trust the strange scents in the air. There were too many wolves here she did not know, and too few she could trust. “and I do not feel as though I can remain in Glorall. There is too much unknown here now.”
She took a step back from the girl, shaking her head slightly as her tail drooped once more.
“I’m sorry. I hope you find your parents.”
