When I first started traveling I went through this! I still get very jittery at the airport from time to time, especially in regards to connecting flights.

For me, the way I dealt with travel stress at the beginning is to sit down and hand-write out a list of everything I need to do before the trip. It helped me wrap my head around everything that needed to be done.

My biggest suggestion, if its an option, is to check into your flight before you go to the airport! It minimizes what you need to do AT the airport, and just ticks something off the list that you don't have to worry about. Also the morning of your flight you can then look online to figure out what gate you'll be at.

If you can access a map of the airport you'll be at, take a look at it and get your bearings on where you'll need to drop your bag and the closest security checkpoint to that desk.

Be prepared with anything you need to remove from your carry on bag right on top - laptop, tablet, cell phone, DSLR camera, and liquids are what I keep easily accessible in my carry on. Also don't wear any jewelry if you can help it, and if you have slip on shoes or ones you can take off/put on without undoing/redoing the laces that helps too! For me, security is still the most stressful part of going to the airport, and being able to move quickly through it reduces my stress level a lot!

Oh and sidenote, don't stress if you get pulled aside for a random pat down or bag check. Happens to me almost every time I go to the airport, and the security people are always quite friendly about it if I give them a smile. ^_^

Most importantly - BREATHE! Now, and at the airport. If you make a list, then put it aside with your wallet/purse/whatever and let that be that until the next step of what you have to do to prepare to go to the airport. Traveling alone for the first time is scary, but once you've conquered it this time you'll be confident to go out and do it again!

I'm here if you wanna chat about anything or have any questions! <333
And don't worry about posts, people can just be patient and wait! That last thing you need is that added pressure. I'm sure everyone understands. (I do!)
