She notices the body language in the girl, how she holds herself, and it was different than many she had encountered. It was not good nor bad. It simply was. There was trouble in the girl, trouble and turmoil. She could sense it- but Phaedra was always known for taking the slightest signs and inflating their meaning. It was the nature of the warped mind, watching the girl with a glowing intensity to rival the very sun that burned into the horizon before them.
She did not mind that the smaller one decided to touch and intermingle furs as they watched the world change. It was always changing, from every moment of time. It was never the same. Even the smallest and most insignificant of moments change. Phaedra wondered what changed occurred in the girl to cause her to become how she was on this day. Phaedra's chiseled muzzle, dark and fading, remains towards the girl, unaware and unknowing if such a persistent gaze was welcoming or comforting. Such things rarely crossed her mind. She observed, every little twitch and change in the girls face as she thought, every movement of her mouth as she spoke and even the slightest change in pitch of her voice. It all gave a story in itself outside of the words she spoke. The girl was indeed troubled, almost trembling. Phaedra knew the answers, she always knew them, it was generally that no one else ever found any solace in her words.
"They may had been your life blood at birth, but they are not forever. You are not forever- not here, not in this form, not as wolf and flesh. Change is constant, and life must always end in this form. The past cannot be changed- it does not exist anymore. Since you are not forever- as flesh and wolf- spend your time in the now, put your mind to focus on what will no longer make you tremble," she says, her voice certainly not at a quick pace. She spoke like an ancient woman with deep tones. She spoke with conviction and spoke with comfort. She was never afraid to say exactly what she thought, and what she thought others needed to hear if they liked it or not.
The girl was quiet for a moment, the sun clashing with earth, until words arise again, in the form of questions directed at Phaedra. Her nebulous eyes moved from the wolf to the setting sun. She seemed to take in the light, wanting to absorb what she could before she is left with darkness and the dim energy of the moon. She took in a deep breath, knowing her words from before would tie into the answers she gives now.
"I must take in the True Light before dusk passes. Light is Truth. You see, our forms of flesh and wolf one day pass to light, as light is life. Have you seen the grass who gets no sun and fades into nothing? Light is life- we must always remember this," she says simply as she watches the ball start to fade almost completely behind the darkening world before her. It is not that Phaedra does not like the darkness, but darkness simply does not have the same...draw.
"Look at the light, the light of life, and remember the Truth of what you have lost through your own light, you see?" she asks, her great dark head turning back to the girl with mis-matched eyes. She wondered if the other understood, as many never seem to when Phaedra speaks to them. Phaedra was never troubled by this, others were different, and Phaedra was only trying to help...in her own way.
