Nakato
eleven ; no mate ; no imprint ; frankenstein of asteraia |
The last few weeks had been busy for Nakato. Luckily, she had been the only wolfess to give birth this season so her services were not needed as much as other healers in faraway packs. This had given her the chance to care for the two cubs who now shared her den. Still wary of her pack mates, the druid only left the den for short periods of time to catch what she could and to replenish her dwindling medical stock. Today, she had only managed to catch a few fish that swam past in the small stream that ran through the pack lands and had managed to grab some burdock root before returning to the den. The sun was starting to sink when she arrived and she could hear the soft whimpering of Athena and Jakuta as she approached. They were probably hungry, she thought with a smile. Laying down beside them carefully, she offered her belly and sighed as they began to suckle. Meal time was becoming a relaxing part of the day for the new mother. It allowed her to spend time with the girls and watch them as they started to grow. Already, Athena’s eyes were starting to open and she could catch the sounds of the outside. Jakuta, the runt, was trying to catch up but was otherwise healthy. “My beautiful children. May you grow strong and wise,” she said, licking each of them in turn. Soon, the trials of the day and the joy of being a mother lulled her to sleep as she curled around them. It didn’t last long. Something made Nakato wake with a start and bright, blue eyes stared at the entrance to the den where a dark figure stood. A voice beckoned, one that was both alien and familiar. Hackles rose and a deep growl oozed from her mouth, a sound she hardly made. Tobias had come. She knew he ruled here and like a good wolf, she obeyed his summon but she didn’t do so quietly. The bob-tailed wolf moved past her sleeping children, her head low and ears pinned to her skull, as she made her way to the entrance. He hisses that he only wants to see them, but she doubts that’s his only reason for being here. Lips pull up to reveal sharp teeth and another growl rumbles from her chest. Only a mother protecting her young would dare make that sound to Tobias. She was completely submissive in all regards, but she instinct demanded that she give the alpha a warning.Nothing was said, nothing needed to be said. They knew what would happen next, it was inevitable. Nakato would not let him pass and Tobias would get past no matter what. And so the healer stood, guarding the entrance to her den, as she threatened her alpha. It was his move now. Tonight was not going to end well for the new mother, but like all, she had to learn her place under the rule of the True Demon King. |
