Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

Sila
i can feel the thunder that’s breaking in your heart
How strange it is that she has proven to be such a free spirit despite her origins. Perhaps adventure is somewhere in her blood and yet, she was not a child so open to exploration only seasons ago. Now, however, it seems as if she cannot be stopped in her constant search to uncover something new and something exciting. She roams without reservation even though her alliance remains firm in the mountain stronghold of Spirane and, despite her infinite affection for her family, she worries not when it comes to glueing herself to the side of her brothers or sister. There is some part of her that knows she ought to be afraid of the world beyond and yet, it is that very same, terrifying world that she wishes to understand. See, she cannot fathom why she was taken as a child and why she lived briefly within the fields and yet, she seeks only to understand it. She cannot hold it against the wolf who took her for that stranger lead her to something new. Others might not see it in such a way, that she knows, and so she keeps her curiosities tightlipped in the meantime.

Spring seems to reignite her desires, however, and she is unable to fully contain her urges as the wildflowers bloom and as the trees shoot up taller and more green than ever. The skies break apart to reveal fresh shades of blue and she can hear the cries of birds even in the valleys below the mountains. How can she resist such a thing? She is alone, though, and so she is hesitant if only for a moment before she strides across the borders and beyond, drawn to the forests below. She wants to hear the songs up close; she wants to breathe in new scents but most of all, she wants to see what else changes with the coming of a new season.

She is young and naive, however, and such a thing is not a fact that can be changed. She moves with practiced ease and yet, each step is alive with a youthful ignorance as she crumples leaves and kicks stones. The very earth seems to creak and moan beneath her, tired of the childish shenanigans as she leaps from log to root and back again. Any beast ought to hear her and yet, she continues obliviously. She is learning so much from it all and so, she sees no reason to stop.

Eventually, a cry breaks the hushed sounds of leaves and dirt beneath her paws however. From its sound alone, she discerns it is a solitary female, older than she and yet, so very close. It takes her some time before she begins to move once more, her head having fallen into a tilted position out of curiosity as she attempts to truly make sense of the howl. It beckons, though not just for her. For anybody, it seems. After some moments of consideration, her own head tilts back as she cries back, a shrill, girlish howl before she takes off at a quick jog towards this stranger.

It takes her a short while before she catches sight of the stranger, Sila's presence announced by the clumsy sounds of a child rampant with excitement and curiosity. She pauses some distance away, separating herself from the pale wolf with another tilt of her head as she gazes up at her. So, she was right? This woman is, after all, entirely new to her in both appearance and scent. There is nothing familiar about her and yet, Sila does her best to appear otherwise; she smiles, small and discrete but certainly there as she takes another two or so steps forward with a swish of her tail.

"Would you like some company?" She questions earnestly and without concern for the formalities or small talk others might indulge in; she figures it is best to be direct in these situations. If this stranger does not seek that then she will be sure to leave as fast as possible. It is not danger she fears but rather, it is the potential that she is unwelcomed or that she has misunderstood. Her goal is to understand, is it not? She'd like to begin now if possible.
