Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

Just because Eden was facing a challenge didn't mean the world had to stop turning. He was my alpha, and I was properly irritated by the woman who had overtly come to try to dismantle our pack to build one of her own, but at the end of the day I trusted our Fortitude to prevail. The time before Eden had taken over was nothing more than a memory now, back when my mothers and siblings had lived here under Tesseract. Honestly I liked it better now; Eden had given me a chance to rise and shine among the pack, and I'd been the first to rise among the ranks two years prior. I'd handily proven that I was the best hunter in the pack, and in the year since I'd turned four I had begun to hone my ability to fulfill the other half of my duty as Trapper - thievery.

My first go of it had been successful, but then the girl had just vanished. Well, that simply wouldn't do. So I'd done it again, gone out into the free lands and surveyed the wolves that moved throughout the valley and woodlands of the north. It had taken me a while to pinpoint my next target, but when I settled on the tawny female I figured I might as well bring the male I'd seen her with on occasion as well. There seemed to be some sort of bond between them, though I wasn't entirely confident of its nature or origin. Still, I had succeeded, and now they both lingered within the pack lands. The wailing call of the male was hard to miss.

Jogging up to them through the soft sandy terrain I hear Coquette demand Quixote bring her to the beach. As I approached it was clear there was some level of tension between the two, and my eyes narrowed, turning towards the pacing male as Coquette questioned his motives for that incessant pacing he was carrying on about. Wrinkling the bridge of my nose I let a small grin quirk the edges of my lips. "Yes, honestly, what is that all about?" But before he could reply I pivoted my bodice so that I stood next to Coquette, facing the direction from which I'd come - towards the crashing waves of our seashores. I motioned with my head, inviting her to join me.

"Come on, I'll show you the beach," My brows moved upwards as I waited to see if she'd be receptive of me. "My name is Alcmene, by the way. I suppose you're wondering why I brought you here?" I lifted my paw, intent on starting forward before I said anything more. Hopefully the offer of explanation would be enough to get her moving with me. A single ear dropped back to listen to Quixote, sure that he wouldn't allow his friend to walk off with a stranger without him. Males had a tendency to think that females couldn't take care of themselves; oh how very wrong they usually were!

I began walking to the east, across the dunes of Glorall as the steady crashing of waves grew louder. "You see, as Trapper of Glorall it's my responsibility to provide for the pack - I'm the lead hunter, as well as the primary burglar. So, you're my guest here. Why do you think I chose you, and your friend over there?" I kept up an even pace, accustomed to the slippery give of the sand beneath my paws, curious to see what this Coquette valued about herself. Eden had built a strong pack here, and I knew there was individual value to each of these wolves...perhaps they just needed someone to help them realize what they could contribute to a pack.
