She closes her eyes for but a moment, basking like a lizard in the sun.
When she opened them again, a wolf was there. Darn it, she needed to get better at sensing her surroundings. So startled is she that he speaks before she can even form a bodily response to his sudden appearance. Well, he was somewhat rude. Obviously, yes, she should have probably been paying more attention, but she had survived the winter, hadn’t she? Momentarily forgetting her submissive nature, she is about to point this out to the offending wolf before the appearance of another stoppers her up again.
She watches as the second wolf, another male speaks to the first. She is unsure of exactly what is going on here. Is the second male defending her? If so, he does so in a strange way and she finds herself extremely unsettled. Unsettled enough that remembers who she is. Since she is already on her belly, she cannot get much closer to the ground. Deciding that it might be a bit too submissive, especially since the first male had possibly threatened her… She rises up slightly into a semi-crouch. Her shoulders and ears remain low, her posture clearly showing her submission to the two males.
This is the role she has always occupied, it comes naturally to her. When she forgets, she might even be pretty. But now, she instantly becomes forgettable.
Despite her submissiveness, she realizes that she has to say something. So she responds to the larger male first, her voice somewhat grumpy.
“I managed to survive the winter, so I’m sure summer won’t do me in.” Her posture is still submissive, offering no offense. She is tense, ready to flee if the need should arise. An awkward silence follows her statement, so she speaks again.
“I am Vaya.” When in doubt, introduce yourself. She may be an omega, but her momma had still taught her some manners.
