Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

For a moment the glorious golden child is simply content to stare at the female whom has sought to correct him. It was rare, after all, for anyone to dare correct the boy aside from his Mother. Niviaq determined in most cases to prevent the child from following the path of his sire so exactly and yet, for all Niviaq’s attempts to create a balanced child, Pan was content to praise the boy for his clever mind and desire to question what he called ‘the fabric of society’. That such questions were often taken for arrogance or rudeness had never occurred to Pan and in turn had failed to be instilled in his son even despite the child hardly desiring to appear obnoxious. He has simply been raised to speak, to speak properly when he does and to project whatever thought or feeling might well have entered his cunning mind. It was merely unfortunate perhaps, that neither Pan nor Niviaq had become entirely aware of exactly who the young Rhett was, or who he would grow to be if allowed to continue on his current path. One that, for now, has been disrupted by the presence of his saviour attempting to inform him about her alternate lifestyle- one that it has become clear he does not appreciate as those emerald eyes narrow slightly and that wondrous mind- so bizarre in a child seems to turn over again.

“I don’t think you actually understand the definition of home, you seem confused, do you require a definition?”

That the boy is, shockingly, entirely serious is made evidently clear as he looks up and towards the older female, eyeing her with something almost akin to contempt for her words- if truly a puppy can be given to offer such a serious look before his small golden shoulders roll in a shrug.

“You either have a pack and a home, or you’re a loner, nothing else. I agree though, it does give you more opportunities- to be eaten, go hungry, freeze, suffer, produce sickly children and die an untimely death at a younger age because you shunned a proper home. That’s your choice though.”

One eye lifted once more, the playful smirk lacing the small child’s lips, this time, holding something almost daring, attempting to goad the older female into arguing with him. Gypsy. Rubbish. Loner. That’s all she was and while truly the matter of her choices in life hardly bothered him the boy simply refuses to lose an argument even despite the poor attitude it seemed to label him with before his young mind seemed to ready find distraction in something else. The curse of being young, after all, is often a dramatically short attention span, his own now focused upon his next goals as he looks towards his saviour once more. He would remember her, of that he was sure, a promise to be made good one day though for now there was little he could offer her by way of thanks save for the words themselves. Later. Yes. Later he would thank her properly.

The chuckle he seems to have earned from her all the same sees the child’s tail wave in a moment of good humour. After all, he is a good child at heart, he simply likes to talk, remaining oblivious to how or why he often seemed so forceful in his nature. The fault of Pan entirely. At the female’s words the young male seems to consider once more, frowning slightly as he weighs these options presented to himself before nodding.

“Very well, if you and your friend want to come with me then so be it. I do need to go into the pack alone though. I need to find my friend and she won’t come out if she sees you there. You have to stay on the border- but I can go in, I know I can. As for the wolves of Spirane knowing what I am doing I have no issue with that, tell them if you want. My parents will surely be relieved that I was found unharmed. I have a brother in Asteraia you know, a full brother, Galileo. I am safe with him and with my friend. Can we go now?”

It is a wordy response and a seemingly honest one at that, the lone female surely oblivious to the boys true intentions in this and yet for now- what did it matter? His plans were his own, she would merely have to discover them when he chose to reveal them.
