Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

Rhaegal

Truth be told, Rhaegal hadn't spent much of his life outside the borders of Spirane. That wasn't to say he hadn't had his fair share of adventures - he'd been to Glorall on two separate occasions, hunted in Mecor Valley, and led an expedition into Iromar unnoticed. For the most part such endeavors had only been made in the name of fun, of exploration. The young dragon had never taken life too seriously, and his primary concern had for the most part been to enjoy life. Upon his third birthday Daenerys had been a little more firm with him, telling him that he needed to start taking steps to become a contributing member to the pack. For two years he had delayed making any kind of decision about the path he wished to follow or a trade he wanted to learn, remaining only as an apprentice because no one thing called to him. He enjoyed making mischief with Bastille, scouting with Drogon, grooming with Kalseru, even listening to a lecture or two from Viserion. So when Daenerys had put the question to him once more, with a more firm resolve in her words, Rhaegal had made the only decision that made sense for him - he wanted to learn it all, and be the best.

The first step in that, it would seem, came to him before he could even go out looking for it. He'd met Hyrule a couple of times throughout the past three years, and found him to be a rather interesting peer. Maybe a little bit full of himself, but then again Rhaegal could be a bit arrogant now and then himself. When Hyrule had asked to meet up with him outside of the territory the young dragon had agreed, interested what it might be about. Rhaegal had tasks to complete now, and even though he had a year to get them finished he wanted to get a start on them sometime soon. Hyrule, being the well traveled wolf that he was, might be just the individual that could help get the ball rolling in that department.

Jogging down through the foothills, Rhaegal moved along the shores of the Aplos River's headwaters, crossing over the border and out of Spirane. Following the course of the river, his twin obsidian audits swiveled to and fro, listening to the many sounds that could be heard about the din of the river. Birds twittered and bugs buzzed about, but there was nothing out of the ordinary that he felt the need to be concerned about. Long legs that he was fast growing into moved at a leisurely jog, and finally the red-backed ears of the other young male came into view. They'd both grown since last they'd seen one another the previous spring at his siblings' party. Rhaegal now clearly had a bit of height on Hyrule, but he in turn was a tad more robust. In their own ways, each boy was well balanced, and would only continue to grow into themselves in the coming year. "Hyrule, come back to give climbing the mountain another go?" Rhaegal said jokingly as he approached, referencing the first time they'd met during their first winter. He came to a stop next to the other wolf, tail waving lightly behind him before I moved to sit with a short distance between them. He was curious about what Hyrule might be up to, and what part he was meant to play in it.
