News 08.08.2021
Change was long overdue in Spirane. Now that I have learned who is still an active presence within the pack, the ranks have been updated. As I once took time away from the pack, so too now shall Kalseru. Know that she is still second in command of the pack, as is reflected in her rank. Once you are familiar with the new ranking system, if you would like to change positions or move up in the ranks you need only ask. Let this be a time of new life in Spirane, and a promise of great things to come!

When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies, but the pack survives.

It seemed as if she fretted more than she slept these days. From the mountains, she had been able to hear the cries and calls from the packs and free lands; there had been calamities in each direction it seemed. Eventually, she knew they'd come to Spirane and so, they had with the passing of spring. It had caused her to retreat into her den, Sila neatly tucked away in the folds of her fur as she did her best to quell her child's fears. She had undergone this before; others had sought Spirane and yet, they had been chased away each time. Yet, she had never heard silence after so long. It made her hesitant and it made her unsure, a low whine resonating from the chamber as she sought out her other children or Pan. Pan would surely know what was happening and yet, she had doubts even there. Something simply felt different. The silence was unlike any before, after all.

It felt like years before a cry was issued. This time, it hadn't rung with Daenery's familiar timbre - it was masculine, youthful, full of purpose. It made her ears flicker uncertainly as she slowly rose, her daughter slipping out from beneath her and taking off towards the den's mouth with keen ears. Niviaq supposed the child did not understand the gravity of the situation; a new call, after all, meant something entirely different to a seasoned pack wolf. It was not a cry for acceptance or for friendship but rather, a cry to inform them that change had swept across the mountain in a spray of blood and snarls. It made Niviaq quiver for a moment, unsure as to what she ought to expect.

For a moment, she had considered summoning Pan and taking off down the mountainside and yet, she had children here; she had history, too and though she felt young, she knew she would not last long in the free lands without burdening Pan. Though she might have looked young due to her features and her lack of silver, she'd begun to feel the residual effects that age brought; old scars ached more fiercely in the cold and her muscles grew more tired with each hunt or journey. She'd not become a burden to him or her children, that shew knew and so, she'd need to accept what change had come. She'd only be able to hope that some part of Daenerys would remain to offer her comfort.

Sila had noticed her mother's apprehension and yet, she had tentatively pulled forth the pelt in which Niviaq kept some of her supplies. With a smile, her mother had declined the package, assuring her that they'd be close enough to fetch it if they required it. Sila did her best to look confident but as they departed the den, she stuck close to her mother's side. Niviaq, on the other hand, had to do her best to not think of her other children; she had her doubts, after all, that they would stay. It seemed in their blood to roam, after all.

It took them some time to approach the pair; she did not recognize either and sucked in an apprehensive breath. She had not intended to be first and yet, she and Sila were the first Spirane wolves to arrive. She approached cautiously initially though her face was pushed into a more homely expression; Sila, on the other hand, grinned up at the two with clear intrigue and a childish pleasure. She bounded ahead of her mother and took a seat, staring up curiously at the male's face, noting the wounds. Niviaq quickly took a position beside her, her ears flashing back at the strange female's words. It could not helped - she fell instantly into her position.

"Yes, she did and so, you ought to take all of your weight off that limb," she chided, her eyes darting to Roman's without hesitation, "we're going to have to ensure there are no breaks in that before you even think about running around these borders again."

She had risen suddenly to stand, only momentarily down until she had been driven to inspect him correctly. He hadn't the aura of an unkind, cruel wolf and so, she had no issue stepping forward with narrowed eyes, inspecting the wound on his cheek with hawk-like eyes. "It might be your worst injury," she motioned momentarily to his foreleg, "but don't think you are going to have it easy. You're going to need to be patched up."

She sighed as she retreated, allowing him the space he required to continue his newly acquired duties. Sila nodded along, silent otherwise, but desperately curious about these newcomers. As for Niviaq, she watched pointedly, waiting to see who else would come and ever hopeful that Pan would seek them out too or some other familiar face would come present itself as a comfort.
