Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

Inanna smiled broadly up at him, each of her puppy teeth glinting in her grin. She spun in a circle, paws scraping against the rock they perched on. Violet and blue eyes were shining, she was all but dancing to the sounds of the storm outside. The fear she had felt when the skies first ripped themselves open swiftly started to ebb away.

“If this is the best place I will come and watch here, too!” Once more she spun to look out at the storm. The occasional lightning strike would light up her eyes, accenting the black flakes that glittered in their pale depths. She thought of her secret den at home, where she stashed all of her prizes and treasures. It was far from the sandy shores, secluded and hidden. She considered the idea of moving her stash to a new location, one where she could linger by the entry and watch similar storms form over the waves of the ocean. It was a whole new world and concept that Zeus had inadvertently introduced her too. It was so beautiful she could not simply let it pass out of her life. There was power here. The ferocity would have scared or ignited others. Boiled their blood and made a thirst for violence spring to their lips. Though chaos reigned down around them Inanna felt a strange sense of peace even as the storm sang in her body.

Breathing deep and happy, she settled herself between Zeus’ paws, resting her head on her own. She looked out at the stormy waves, utter contentment on her face. Her tail tapped behind her. Everything about her posture and her expression made it clear she was relishing this experience.
