Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

Dragonfly yelped in undignified alarm at the sudden explosion of green water and white before her. she scrambled backwards on the tree trunk, her claws scraping against the wood and creaking off splinters of bark in the process. She heart hammered in familiar fear from her recent experience as she stared wide-eyed at the golden brindled male before her. Her body became stiff upon her perch above the water as her widened eyes tracked his muscle movements, looking for a lunge to avoid. But he remained stiff and bold, and so Dragonfly remained still with shock.

His curt statement rocked her gut in weariness and the evident rumble in it signified the deep voice that he was developing. Dragonfly, fully terrified but now that immediate danger passed, found herself utterly confused and intrigued by the young male. He had powerfully gained her undivided attention as she observed his mannerism with an intelligent practice. When the grin slide onto his maw, her tail waved slightly; had he meant to play with her?

When he told her shortly after to be more careful, she became wholly convinced that he had scared her for fun, but also in warning. Yet another kind wolf looking after her, though his way of doing so was abnormal. She supposed, judging from his wild scent, that he was a loner and unused to interaction. Socially awkward was an apt term, she decided. In response to him, she said in a tone that was conversational and playful, “I am aware of being thoroughly gotten, thank you. So, how about you teach me to be more careful and I teach you how to handle yourself with a little more decorum, hmm Goldie?”

She relaxed into a easier stance while her worried eyes relaxed into a more thoughtful expression and she tilted her head to the left to emphasize her question. She knew safety in numbers, and his brutal awakening of her primal fear instincts made her very much in need of his companionship. Pack was good to have when it was good have, even if it were temporary. Plus, Dragonfly was under no illusion that if he left her now that she wouldn’t be diving from hiding spot to hiding spot to avoid any other wolves who would try to kill, scare, or in any other way harm her.
