Misty Mountain is opposite of Rainbow Cliff. Mists hover year-round at this high altitude, mistaken by some to be thin clouds. Thin layers of snow cover the mountain, making some areas slippery and hazardous.

Some think it romantic, a place to bring their mates, while others come to play and romp. However, all must agree that there is some level of mystery and spookiness hovering about with the mists...

The fae whimpered as Kahlan cleaned her wound and flinched, but did not lash out at Kahlan or move away from her. And, when finally the cooling moss was applied, the fae relaxed and exhaled deeply. ‘Thank you…’ The fae turned to face Kahlan before finally introducing herself. ‘I've gone by many names, but most know me as Kanae. It's a pleasure to meet you, Kahlan. Once again.. thank you for helping me out.’ Kahlan nodded her head and offered a brief smile her way. ‘ So you said that you were Saw Tooth's old leader, eh? What happ-…Never mind, that's personal information. I'm sorry.’ Kahlan shook her head. “No need at all to apologize. I was Saw Tooth’s healer, and though it is truth that in Cai’s absence, I was their leader as I was Cai’s Beta, I never was truly their leader. As for what happened? That is a long and sad tale. If you are new to these lands, you would never have heard of Moth – but she led Saw Tooth for a multitude of years, and was respected by all. She was fair and kind, and filled every position that any in her pack needed her to be – mother, sister, friend, teacher. The years and her wounds that she received from protecting the pack finally c aught up to her, and she succumbed to death. Cai was named as her successor, but then even she disappeared. I held the pack together, I held the pack members to a standard of loyalty, but then the pack decided that it needed death or a while, death by fire for fire would then bring life, rebirth from its ashes. I led them away to one of our sister packs with the decision that we would forge our own lives, and that I would gather them should Saw Tooth ever be reborn. And now… here I am. That is my story, at least the part that pertains to your question. Now I suppose I should inquire about your own past, so that I know who you are?

Kahlan lowered her haunches to the ground, her plume sweeping around to cover her pads, a small cloud of dust rising up briefly from the ground before settling again. Her suns raised, peering upward to lay upon the clouds that hung heavy around them, heavy above them. Only then did Kahlan realize how dark it was without the sun. How dark her own life was without her soul. Kahlan’s face showed nothing, but something inside of her cold body sparked. Something that desired to be found, to be saved. Her broken mind pushed it down, wanting to get rid of that feeling, for with it would come the returned responsibilities, the returned pains, the returned loneliness. But doing this – returning to her way of healing – had given her sanity an upper hand. A single hold to keep her together… but it was a place to start.
