She was rubbing herself all over him, up and down and under his chin. He knew why to an extent, an Alpha marked everyone that way, though since she was not the Alpha he could only assume she was in possession of some sort of grand desire claim him as her own personal property- else she had some sort of rubbing condition. For half a moment he is content to scowl, forced to brace himself in the weight of her onslaught before he simply allows her to continue. She was a Princess here wasn’t she? Holding her scent surely couldn’t be all that bad, it had to mean something, right? She struggles to sound out his name, one emerald eye lifting in curiosity before she finally seems to manage it, a grin tracing his lips.
“Yes, that’s it, very eloquent of you, we will work on that though.”
She couldn’t go about stuttering wolves names forever, no. It was fortunate, truly, that he had come if only to help set her upon the right path. His brother had clearly been failing although he was beginning to see some actual value in the land around him. This was a nice pack. It was nice to be flat, the ground soft, not broken by stone and slope as it was on the mountains. Maybe all that climbing made for a fit form, yet Rhett sees value in an open field too. Maybe Galileo had been onto something from the beginning. The sudden change in his new friend however rapidly sees the golden male frown, stepping back, eyeing her now as she growls at the retreating gypsy. Why should she growl like that? She was never going to win followers that way. Rhett is also rather assured at her current height and stature she held little chance of winning any fight, let alone one with a fully grown female wolf. His paw reaches out, batting at her, drawing her attention away from the female and back to himself, defusing the situation rapidly and fooling her mind a little perhaps, into focusing on him again. It took several attempts and several puppy bows before he managed to engage her, his own tail waving, leaping sideways, dodging her over and over until Taika was well and truly gone and Nevermore had surely forgotten she existed, his own form straightening now as she moved to copy. She was such a strange creature this one, Rhett assured he had never met another like her.
“Whose Hopper?”
His own head tilts now, seeking some reason to explanation to this unusual choice of word, the boy speaking it as if it is a name rather than an object as it may well prove to be, the grin she offers seeing his own lip quirk slightly at the ridiculousness of the situation.
“Have you ever heard anyone say ‘don’t use your army to fight a losing battle?’ it’s a saying, but I think that is the thing you need to remember the most when you get older. I’ll help you though, like I said.”
He meant it to, indeed the boy had designed a rather grand plan for the both of them. Spirane may well have been the place of his birth but there was no true opportunity there, not for him, at least, not without upsetting far too many others and in the long run that was hardly a viable thing. She presses herself against him once more, Nevermore seeming to like touch more then she liked anything else, Rhett content to allow it as she nipped beneath his chin.
“I’ll be taller then Galileo, by a long way, I think- my parents are short though, I think that’s why all my siblings are except me. I already said I’d stay, you don’t have to ask again. Do I need to meet your parents or anything?”
