At the densest section of the forest, there is a brief clearing where a steady flow of water streams down the slippery stone staircase. The water here is cool and refreshing. Staircase Falls has been rumoured to be the place where reality is met by magic; where peaceful spirits dwell. They are rumoured to have healing powers that are used to help the desperately hurt, though no one has experienced this, except for, perhaps, Kaive.

Loyalty means nothing unless it has at its heart the absolute principle of self-sacrifice

The brute dipped his head to him when Kalgalath returned the fish that had nearly been lost. The fish had flown from the King's mouth as quickly as could be - in truth he could not wait to have the taste of such things out of his maw. Nothing tasted worse than fish in truth, aside from rotten fish, that was. If it had been dropped by a stranger, he would have taken it home - Sebring seemed to have an affinity for fish, but whether that was because she actually liked them or whether she had grown to like them seeing as Kalgalath seemed to be constantly catching them for her. After returning the meal, the mottled king greeted the brute who had been gone for so long, asking after both his and his mate's welfare, a set of questioning which quickly put a smile on the other's facade. Kalgalath dipped his head as Titan recounted answers to Kal's questions, glad the two had finally reconnected and settled their issues. When last he had seen them, Akina had seemingly left him and had sought Kong out... But all of that was in the past now. It seemed that the pair had been in the lands of Blossom Forest for at least a while now - they were already scouting lands for places to call home. As Kalgalath had understood it, they had belonged to Aurroa Borealis at one point, even ruling it. After all, Kong had been Kal's closest and oldest friend, aside from Nika, and had told him many things. Though Kong had been secretive about his own problems, choosing to deal with them himself, he had been quite forthcoming when it came to the history of Akina - the fae that he loved but could never have. For a brief moment he offered Aurora Borealis as sanctuary, but he thought otherwise - such was not a decision that Titan was likely to make on his own without Akina's two cents.

Titan spoke of the possibility of the leaving Blossom Forest again, but Kalgalath merely chuckled. "The two of you have returned here many times, friend, I think that even should you leave, you would return gain. This is your home - both of you. It is hard to ever truly leave, no matter how many times you try." Kalgalath knew the truth of that only too well. Though he had not been born here, he had spent much time within these lands when he was younger, and had returned when things with his ex had not worked out. Instead of returning to where he had lived previously, he had taken up residence at Aurora Borealis, a dead pack in mourning for its fallen leader. Kal had been voted into the throne, supported by Kong's suggestion. It had taken a lot of work to raise it from the ashes, and as with all things it had its ebb and flow of activity, but it finally seemed as if it was on the up and up. "Have you two been here long? Where did you go for all of this time?"

But then, Titan addressed the pack itself, and Kalgalath couldn't help but smile, nodding his head. "Aye!" The mottled brute shook out his pelt before turning his gaze to the falls that he had just climbed up. Rarely did he ever come up this high, he much preferred the eddy down below. But looking over the higher cliff, it allowed him a beautiful view over the lands below. "Our numbers have risen again, and were I to give out ranks ad nauseam, my ranks would be full... But I believe that ranks mean something and should be earned, so I have many sitting at the rank of Omega. But more exciting perhaps is that my family has grown. I have a new mate since last you were here, Sebring, who rules with me and we just welcomed two princelings." The mottled king paused, for he could not remember if Titan had known Zig. If he had known about Kalgalath's relationship with Zig. His maw shut and he fell silent about the matter - he would address that if Titan brought it up. But elsewise, there was no reason to - Titan and Kal were hardly acquaintances, let alone friends. Though he had nothing to hide, there was no reason to spill all of his secrets to this brute.
