She is unsure why he wished to batt her cold nose. He was a creature that was not one to enjoy touch. The touch he had given her was an innocent one, almost playful, and yet there was no sign on his face nor wag of his tail that permitted her to think he was touching her due to jest. Unsure with how to react, or what he was wanting her to do, she mimicked his movement and batted his own nose. The moment he sneezes her ears point back as her dial tilts in curiosity, her black lips pull back slightly in a small friendly grin. Though when she sees his lips crack in the corners, his dark face holding a dissatisfied look in them, she forces that small grin of hers to fade away. Quietly she moves herself to lie beside her companion, taking comfort that for a moment the two could be at peace. Hardly did the two get a chance to be at each other side without some form of goal to accomplish. Each night she would accompany him on a hunt, helping him cure the strong appetite that seemed unable to be quenched. An appetite she could feel thanks to their bond, an appetite she strived to cure him of, an appetite she could not feel tonight. Tick Tock could not describe what it was she felt tonight. The bond between the two was strong, she was accustomed to feeling the anger and the strife that came from her imprint, but all she could feel from him was simply foreign and indescribable.
As she lies on her back she sighs softly staring up at the dark sky. She couldn’t recall a recent moment in time when she had done such a juvenile thing. The only time she could recall such a thing was in her youth, when she was all alone, lying beside herself every night. Looking at the vast amount of stars was a favorite past time. It was a moment when she could be a peace, feeling nothing but content overwhelm her, finding herself in tune with her surroundings. It was a time when she didn’t have to worry about when she would hunt for her next meal, where she would go to find shelter, or if she needed to spend the majority of her time looking over for back for possible enemies. Being in this situation at such a young age brought peace, and that same peace would rise up within her, as she laid beside the wolf she was forever tethered to. As she laid there looking up at the stars her mind began to wander as her soul began to sing with joy for being so close and calm beside the one she cared deeply for. Yet such happy thoughts were destroyed the moment he spoke that he could not see the stars. Whether he truly could not see because he was not familiar with the description she provided him or the object itself, or that he truly could not see due to fading eye sight that came with age, all she knew was that this was just another thing to put on the list that separated them and did not bind them.
Perhaps this was the true show that Fate could be so terribly cruel. Fate gave the Monster a second chance to be bound to another, one that Tick Tock thought she deserved, a male that was clever and strong. Yet through this kind gift that Fate had bestowed upon her was truly her way of punishing the Monster one final time. For a while now she noticed how she felt for Tobias. It occurred a few days before her only son challenged her thought towards his Father that she understood that unfamiliar feeling that had settled within her cold heart. She cared for the True Demon of Moladion, she enjoyed being within his presence, was happy when he had moments when he focused on her, and yet she knew that the feelings she felt for him would most likely be unrequited. She was bound to a creature that was perhaps incapable of loving another. Tick Tock had no mate. Tick Tock had never before felt what it was like to actually be loved. When she was young she did not feel that wonderful connection of knowing she was loved by her Mother and Father. Her former imprint did not even love her. Not once had she ever had a mate. She had children and although she cared for them deeply, loved them as a Mother would, she could not in her age ever have that chance to find the one male that desired her, that craved her touch, or held on to her every word. She loved Tobias and no one would ever truly love her, for her, and in a way...Fate won. Fate won, because Fate had chosen Tick Tock to be that Monster with that mark upon her forehead, cursed the creature to walk upon this world feared by others, hated by others, and never feel love. Fate could be so cruel to one that was once so purely innocent.
Tilting her dial slightly she looked at her companion, bright sapphire eyes flecked with violet, looking into that venomous slick emerald eyes. With a soft sigh she moves her scarred muzzle over towards his own, brushing it gently for a moment, inhaling his familiar and comforting scent. She can feel the summer winds bring some comfort as the breeze flows through her thick ebony and grey fur. Both dark ears twitched forward in interest as she softly asked him a question. If he could not enjoy the moment and see the stars then she would not try and make him struggle about it. It was rare for her to see him at such peace that she didn’t want to destroy it by making him angry.
“What do you see, Tobias?”
