aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

For the first time the snowy ess spoke up, her voice quiet and light. I guess so. I know I got the correct plant for poppy this time at least. Sebring smiled lopsidedly, she had indeed. She drifted back to the first healing session, the pure excitement that Khaleesi had had. Even when she had found a variation of poppy she had not been discouraged. She had returned valiantly with the poppy to which they had been requested of and they had all had a good laugh. They had all been happy and carefree, but that was then as this was now. After a bloody border fight, after bloodshed, and after death. The ashen Queen sighed quietly focusing on the words that flowed from Hellene’s maw, her little mental notes a reminder of what she was tasked with finding, but not touching. Her pregnancy kept her from many things now and it was more frustrating at times that she had anticipated, but that would never match the inexplicable joy that filled her at all times. Save for when she couldn’t enjoy a decent meal. Sebring so wrapped in her own thoughts missed the reply of Khaleesi to her mother and as she tuned back in it was time to go hunting for the new herbs. But even before then they were greeted with a new woman, her similarly white pelt slightly mussed. Sebring listened quietly to Vita, her mind recognizing the little lady but Hellene’s sharp whine maybe the queen wince slightly. She didn’t even have to hear words to understand the sound that she emitted. Khaleesi seemed most affected and unable to stand it had leapt. Busying herself with finding the new herbs. Sebring turned to hoping the girl wouldn’t have left so quick, she knew she wouldn’t be able to keep up and so she let the little snowbird go.

Sebring rose up and toddled off to find her herbs. Hellene was quick to follow her, she knew that her hormones had thrown her scent out of whack and it was much stronger than usual. She had remained within Aurora’s borders to stay out of trouble and Hellene’s healing lessons were a perfect way to occupy time and be productive. Hellene made quick work of digging out the feverfew that Sebring had stumbled upon, but before continuing on she answered Sebring’s small question, Lady's Mantle really prefers to grow in moist areas, especially near rivers and streams so I would suggest you look there. her ashy crown nodded up and down as her swollen abdomen jumped with the slight kick of one of the pups. Any day now, any day. The two rambunctious pups would out and waking up to the world within a few weeks of their birth. She couldn’t hardly wait for the day. Sebring spoke up about the patch of Echinacea she had found and Hellene seemed particularly excited about it. Sebring smiled, happy to help, even if only by accident. The swaying herbs glowed in the afternoon light, I am glad you had come across this, I actually need to add some to my own garden - I had previously been travelling out of the pack to get mine. Why don't you sit for a moment and rest while I did up two roots of this - one for you and one for me. Sebring nodded attentive to Hellene’s words. The timberess seemed happy to know that Sebring was attentive to herself and the growing pups. As always, feel free to ask me about any plants you do not know. I cannot promise that I know it - there are far too many in the world to have a name for each of them - but I'll do my best. As for your tiring... I will get you some chamomile. It should relax you and calm your muscles. After we get you home and start your meager garden, I will get some from mine even as I plant this Echinacea. Sebring chuckled at the thought of her meager garden. She knew that in comparison to Hellene’s she would have almost next to nothing, but it would be next to nothing.

That would be wonderful Hellene, thank you. After This pregnancy is over I hope I can get back my usual routine. She laughed quietly. This had been one of the few times she had left the den without the urging of Kalgalath. When the Queen wasn’t sleeping her lover was usually trying to get her to come out for small walks and such, pregnancy was not an excuse for laziness now as it. Sebring made quick progress and found the final herb at the creek’s bank. Good job, Sebring. Why don't you start back while I dig this up for you, I will meet you back in the clearing. Sebring nodded to Hellene, she knew the healer was likely to beat her anyhow. She smiled and toddled off back to the group who she could only assume was already laying in wait for the pair.

As she rounded into the clearing she found only Khaleesi. The white ess sat patiently, her emeralds glazing over the spread of herbs before her. Sebring plodded over to her and sat down, surprised to have made it before the resident healer. She had tried to pick up her pace a tab bit. Her breath was labored again and she sat there trying to calm it, along with her racing heart. She’d need more training after the pregnancy to get herself back into shape. The timber healer padded back into the clearing her mouth full of herbs, her and Sebring herbs to be exact. She placed Sebring bunch before her and the Queen made work of spreading them out in an orderly fashion before focusing back to Hellene. Since you both wanted, gardens, I will help you dig them today. I really don't have much to tell you Elsewise on these particular herbs. We will do more in a few weeks. Khaleesi, dear, why don't you travel back to our den and start digging shallow holes, perhaps six inches deep? I will be along shortly. You should find a good size rock and start pushin it toward home. We will put some moss on it and each day it will be your responsibility to water it to make sure the moss grows nice and strong. Sebring, why don't you head home as well and I will meet you there... The queen dipped her head. She placed the herbs across the palette of moss she had and gently rolled the stems and flowers so she wouldn’t suffer their effects. But before she could swing her crown down to pick them up, Hellene had the bunch in her jowls. I will drop these off at my den and meet you at yours Sebring. I imagine it will take you a bit longer. The Queen rolled her honey orbs. She couldn’t live down her slowness could she?

She trotted through the underbrush laughing gently to herself. She knew the terra quiet well and her and Kalgalath’s den was not far off. Her main struggle would be up the ravine, but she had learned to take it slow and so she did. The queen made steady work up to her den. She wouldn’t have been surprised if Hellene had beaten her to it. As she crested the hill Sebring canvassed the area and took a seat at the den entrance awaiting Hellene or her instructions.
