The Cavern of Secrets holds much more than you can imagine. Once a forbidden place, the ban on entrance has been released...yet, is it a good idea to enter?

Once a great battle had been fought in this cavern, against a dark beast that had once - and still might - dwell here. No one knows where he disappeared to, but there are rumours...

All That I See, Absolute Horror

_________________________________________________________________________

The female was surprised by all of the events that had occurred in Abendrot. Life in the pack had taken an interesting turn, and it only kept things more exciting. It was now in the past, but the pack had been attacked by cougars, something that could have destroyed each and every wolf that lived there if it was not for their teamwork and quick thinking. Not only had the wolves fought of one cougar, but two, a mated pair. It was rare for the large felids to come into a wolf pack’s territory, but it happened sometimes. Depending on the state of the pack, it was something that could cause an entire pack to leave and disperse. But Abendrot was stronger than that, and even though they did not have a large number defending the pack, they had been successful in protecting the pack and destroying the cougars. That was the last time that the female had seen Kershov, the previous alpha of the pack. Azula was still in shock at finding out that he had left. She never thought that she would reside in Abendrot longer than thee formidable ice king that had accepted her all that time ago. But now Grey Wind was the new alpha, a brute that had been in the pack longer than herself. She knew that Kershov had trusted him, and so she had no issues with him taking over. It was not as if she would ever want to run a pack or something like that. At the first meeting with Grey Wind in charge, Halina had had doubts, but she had not been here as long as Azula had. Maybe she did not yet trust Grey Wind as most of the pack wolves seemed to. Anyone that Kershov trusted was worthy of her trust in Azula’s opinion.

On top of all the excitement with new leaders and challenges within the pack, she had developed an interesting relationship with one of her packmates, Mabbit. She did not know the brute until she ran into in the caverns outside of the territory. She did not remember what had driven her to travel out there, but her interaction with him had been nice, even though their topics of conversation had not been the happiest. She had learned by now that those that resided within Abendrot were not happy vargs, herself included. Those that thought the world a good place were naïve and could go try and live their lives out happily in other packs. The vargs within Abendrot were smarter and more realistic, knowing how the world actually worked. And it seemed that Mabbit too understood that the world was cruel and viscous. What the scarred female had not expected of him though, was for him to show up at her den and not only show up but to force his way into her space. Azula was not an outright mean female, sure she could be rude and blunt often, but she was not a malicious being. But her instincts had kicked in when someone had tried to come into her personal space, and she had lashed out before she realized who it was. A part of her now felt bad when he had left, but at the same time she did not like others coming into her space. He could have waited outside for her instead of putting his damn face into her den.

Azula had not thought of that incident though until she saw Mabbit’s form at the pack meeting. He did not speak to her, and she wondered if he was upset with her for her reaction. She was surprised when she found herself somewhat bothered by this. He was one of the few in this pack that she had actually made an effort to get to know, and had considered him a friend. Friends was not something she was used to having, but now that her brother and young had left, she was more alone than she had ever been before. She did not want to be coddled or anything like that, but having a friend and companion was not something that she was against having. Tan and white paws carried her through the trees, only now realizing that since she had been lost in thought she had wandered out of Abendrot’s terra and was back at the caverns she had visited before. The warrioress was not sure what it was that drove her to this area, but as she had done in the past, she pushed into the dark and cool caves, listening intently as water dripped from the ceiling above, letting her pelt blend in with the darkness.
