With Winter now here she had to keep the forefront of her mind about her pack. Psyche would bring new pups into the fields. They would need to be watched and nurtured to get them strong enough to make it through spring and summer without being captured by another predator. Her Frankenstein’s pups would begin their training within the coming Spring. They had been hidden by their own Mother, but that would continue now that they were older. Every wolf within her ranks pulled their weight. Each one had their own responsibility that in some way helped the pack stay strong and kept things functioning. Tick Tock had no time to deal with dead weight.
Dark sapphire eyes watched as the young boy began to draw himself in her cold nose inhaling softly to take in his scent that was covered with dread. The Monster knew she attracted this particular action and she had no intention of fixing that. She was not a ruler that would approach with such warm and friendly welcome paws, not when she could easily open her jaws in a terrifying manner. Twin audits would twitch back and forth when she noticed how he began to lower himself to the ground, noticing how he began to creep closer and closer to the borderline.
He was showing submission something she could tolerate and accept. As he got closer she did not growl with warning. She could hear a harsh wheeze leave him, but not hearing him whine. When he did it a second time the Monster understood that he was unable to vocalize. Part of her felt that she should put him out of his misery. However, she remembered the young pup that was also a mute that approached her borders and wished to join, he had shown potential, and it was a shame he disappeared and never returned. Coolly her voice slithered out harshly as she expressed her ideals and traits she did not expect a pack member of her’s to hold.
“I do not tolerate weakness, I do not accept weakness into my pack.”
Yet he continued to grovel and stop his movement the moment he was on the edge of the border. Still standing still she observed his small frame begin to turn over exposing her throat and giving her the ultimate decision. It would be easy, so very easy, for her sharp teeth to sink into that exposed vulnerable flesh. Quickly her head would drop down, but she would suddenly stop and allow her warm breath to hover over his exposed throat as her teeth barley grazed his fur, it was a soft touch, doing this on purpose. She wanted to see, she wanted to push him, see if the boy could do something worth her while. Without much indifference she calmly spoke to him holding a subtle tone of optimism, subtly leading him to believe that he might be able to join.
“Clearly you would not be a good diplomat nor a watchmen to protect the border. What use would you be to the pack?”
Withdrawing her ebony crown away from his throat she would look down at the boy, her eyes blazing with a challenge, wondering if he could understand. She was testing him...testing to see if he could be creative in answering her question.
