During the day, sentries guard the sleeping. When the sky is dark and the moon dances with the stars, this is when the real fun begins. Munashii Gekko's forest is the only haunt where you can find your local misfits all in one place. A land of the forbidden and forgotten, a place that is riddled with dangers of a whole different kind. The wolves here have long misplaced their rightful minds, and now live like creatures damned to prowl and lurk through the night. It's easy to lose yourself here, sanity was sure to fade away and wither; there was never anything normal about this nefarious nest. The silent threats that whispered in the breeze were enough to deter even the largest of demons around. It was not strength nor wit that ensured your survival here with Eric, and challengers would be torn down with a morose lethality - there was nothing left in his cold blue eyes that promised mercy to anyone who dared to overstep their worth. So, would you give up the sun for the moon and stars? Do you have enough vigor to become a well regarded sentry? - Put on a game face to step up and pass the sepia king's test or turn and leave before he catches your scent. You never know who wants to snack on your delicious blood in this forest.

. . .Dark Wings. . .Dark Words. . .

Everything felt as if it was crashing down around his bloody crown. The few things in the bastards life that had come to a constant were suddenly spinning wildly out of control and couldn’t even begin to understand why. It was true Ameira had a knack for bringing challengers home under the condition that they would be a member of the pack, but this? This felt like mutiny to Horizon. The challenger, Blood Titan, had somehow struck a deal with the lilac eyed Queen to take her place at the helm of Munashii Gekko and even though it was stated that Ameira would remain as second in command, Horizon was struggling to see how this would follow through. Horizon hailed from a land where attempts to overthrow the crown were common. And each and every one was put down by death. Farant, the current King of Faraway, was one of the most ruthless and monstrous wolves. Horizon ought to know, he was the bastard child of the brute. His mother was taken by force and the singular pup borne to her was taken away at the earliest age possible and shoved away into the depths of the royal’s home. And so tortured by these memories Horizon had suppressed them, and until recently he had only been plagued by them during the night. And then Akuji had shown up… He had been Farant’s heir and he was Horizon half-brother. And Horizon had been his servant, along with his two other siblings who resided within Blossom Forest as well.

Horizon felt himself want to scream in outrage, but instead he sat there calmly. His face was blank, devoid of emotion. Ameira conversed quietly with Summer, who had been an Alpha previously. The pack had become over run by bears and Horizon had been more than happy to welcome them into Munashii Gekko. They seemed a friendly bunch and their little family was something Horizon had hoped to have here in his home. He had not yet had the chance to get to know Summer, Nzingha, or Danger very well. Nzingha had disappeared with Danger shortly after their arrival and Summers scent had been interwoven around Munashii. Horizon could only assume the male was getting to know the terra and with late spring having set over Blossom Forest the foliage of the pack was getting thicker and thicker every day. It was for a nice, chilled stroll even in the height of the sun’s arching path. Very little sunlight seemed to touch the ground in Munashii Gekko. It was a stark contrast to the land that the bastard hailed from. Cold Summers, the pack of Kalaks, was more suited to his kind, but he was not inclined to be amongst them. Especially since most of them would have a similar history to himself like Akuji or Shae. Horizon finally having gathered a calmer center approached the two alphas and spoke, with a cool tone and addressed the main problem that had come to his mind. After sitting back Summer strode forward and offered his loyalties to the pack and Blood Titan.

Horizon knew that Summer was new to all of this and he had no reason to trust anyone or really doubt them. He was more likely to have an open mind about what was happening and Blood Titan took all of this in stride. Finally the man took center stage and began to speak more than a few sentences. As Ameira has already stated, my name is Blood Titan. Titan works just fine if you’d prefer. I’m not going to stand up here and come up with flowery speeches trying to persuade to follow me blindly. My intentions and abilities are much better proven through actions and commitment is proven only with time. tall, burnt umber auditories flickered at the words, trying to discern any hints of duplicity but he found none. Horizon wasn’t going to hold blame on the man when there was none to be had. That would have been foolish and a warrant for his dismissal from his home. Horizon wasn’t looking to start a war within the pack. He was only trying to make sure that this new man was going to keep the peace and do what Ameira had said he was going to do. And so far it was going smoothly. Horizon could at least appreciate that Titan was not going to try and deceive any of them with smooth talking. Instead he used a commanding, militia vocal. Horizon…

The bastard’s mud and ember optics had already been upon the new Alpha but now they locked gazes, Your rank of zeta has been stripped. Again, this is effective as I speak it. However, you will have first choice among the ranks for what would interest you. I trust what Ameira has said of you, that you’re capable and loyal, and I can see by your reaction to me you are protective of the pack. You’re skeptical on its behalf. These qualities are appreciated. Horizon listened with a blank slate face taking every word in stride. He was surprised at the compliment, and dipped his crown to acknowledge the kind remark. But this was not all, Blood Titan turned his attention to the pack once more and began to address the ranking situation. There would be auditions for the ranks now, and they would come with a certain set of tasks. And what took the bastard by surprise was Titan’s layout of what his and Ameira’s duties to the pack were. Horizon’s lips lifted ever so slightly, his heart gladdened to see that Titan was showing that he knew what he had stepped into. The new Alpha was getting a good start in Horizon’s mind. He wasn’t trying to over throw the pack and Ameira was still standing there in one piece, her snowy coat glimmering in the faint light. Horizon listened quietly as the brute dictated the new ranks and he laughed internally. He would not be returning to the rank of Zeta, the bastard had no experience with pups and his puphood had not lent itself to teaching him how to raise one, but what did interest him was the rank of Gamma. Horizon did not voice this just yet though, as he listened to the closing portion of Titan’s speech. Horizon noted the each word he said. The brute was respectable and accordingly aimed to keep the safe haven aspect of Munashii Gekko. Maybe the man wasn’t so bad.

Suddenly Horizon gaze was attracted by a sliver of movement and the stark white pelt of Artemis slunk into the clearing. She spoke quietly to Ameira only before taking a background seat in the gathering. Horizon let everything settle over before he stood once more and approached the two Alphas, “Bood Titan, I will not stand here and tell you that everything you have said has convinced me wholly to trust you, but I will not lie and say that a piece of mind is not put to rest. I respect what you have said and I appreciate you candidacy with us.” Horizon took a breath before continuing, “I do not know what Ameira has told you of me or my past, but if you would be open to it I would like to further discuss the intentions you have for the pack and whatever else comes up, one on one.” Horizon stepped back and looked into Titan’s emerald portals. He wanted to be candid with the brute, but he felt it would be better if they were alone. He turned to Ameira and a smile graced his lips, “As always it was wonderful to see you Lady Ameira.” He bowed to the duo before backing away and sitting to the outskirts of the pack meetings, hoping that Titan would approach him afterwards to talk further. Ranks, life, intentions, etc. There was much to talk about.
