you hear it on the breeze...
No thought was given to the fact that her tail and back legs were straight up in the air as her head and forepaws reached desperately for her target. Many pups would have whined to try to get what they wanted. Pine snarled. Her body writhed, twisting until she was able to get all of her paws under her. As soon as she get traction she dived again into the hole, her efforts redoubled. This time, with all four feet firmly on the ground, she tore into the rabbit hole. Victorious snarls sounded through the air! At last Pine’s yearling teeth grabbed onto the head of the rabbit. As she ripped it from the hole instinct took over. She snapped its neck with a whip of her own, killing it swiftly to end its suffering.
Pleased with herself she padded over to Grimoire, the rabbit hanging from her mouth and dragging on the ground. Grinning, she dropped it at her teacher’s feet. Glee shined from forest green eyes and once more her body wiggled around with the speed of her tail. Unable to contain herself she danced around the much larger paws.I did it! Her voice squealed with excitement. At last she calmed down enough to sit in front of the older wolf, her body still vibrating. A thought passed through her mind. Eyes stared up at her. Do you think Big Wolf will be pleased? She asked the question as if it were the most important thing in the world. More important than actually knowing how to hunt, or obtaining her prize.
