At the Pension Board Meeting on April 27, there was 2 items of interest that caught my attention:
1. On the Agenda under the consent agenda # 4, was a list of New Retirees applying for retirement.
Items on the consent agenda through #8 were approved without ANY discussions or questions from any of the Trustees . At the top of the list was the Houstons who were accused of Tax Fraud. It appears they will get approx. $10,000.00 a month. I asked 1 of the Trustees during recess about this and he said they will only get back what they contributed and that will stop after they receive that amount. It did not seem that way to me.
on the Agenda they voted on and approved.
HOPEFULLY there will be a clearer explanation at next months meeting.
2. The Plan Attorney reported that they were studying on getting back from the Insurance Co. about $90,000.00 spent on the Parker Law Suit and not the rest of the approx. $800,000.00 plus that was spent.
