For a while, the dark girl didn’t know she was being watched. The wind carried her scent towards the stranger so she continued to giggle like a child as she played with the fish. It wasn’t until they noticed her and hid under some rocks that the game ended and she was left to smile at her reflection. Friends could be found anywhere and she knew these fish were her friends, even though they shied away from her. It didn’t offend her. She understood their fear and simply continued to smile at them before turning around and seeing the large wolfess watching her.
With a gasp, her tail fell under her body and she squatted low to the ground. It was how she greeted others, to show them that she was small, always smaller than them, and she was no thread. Her tail gave a few nervous wags before she moved back a bit to allow the wolf space to drink at her leisure. Was she being judged? Was she being sized up for a fight? What was the other’s plan for her? Ember was not built for battle. She hated the thought of hurting another so she avoided conflict at all costs.
Avoiding eye contact with the other dame, she simply continued gazing at the shimmering water until she felt brave enough to speak in a voice barely above a whisper. "H-Hello. Have you been watching me long? I’m sorry." She wasn’t sure what she was apologizing for, but it seemed the best course of action to take until she knew the wolfess a little better.
