If they aren't breeding, how can they persist? No, there aren't 500 (or 800) pumas in Ontario. That will be the subject of another post.

The 1997 Quabbin scat was determined to be North American. Many captive pumas have South American ancestors, but certainly many North American pumas have been taken into captivity as well.
