News 08.08.2021
Change was long overdue in Spirane. Now that I have learned who is still an active presence within the pack, the ranks have been updated. As I once took time away from the pack, so too now shall Kalseru. Know that she is still second in command of the pack, as is reflected in her rank. Once you are familiar with the new ranking system, if you would like to change positions or move up in the ranks you need only ask. Let this be a time of new life in Spirane, and a promise of great things to come!

When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies, but the pack survives.

Kalseru
yes. all men must die, but we are not men

She had been on the outskirts of Diveen as she watched her mother travel west towards the spires of their home, for no matter who claimed them as their own they would always be her home. No longer was a she a pup who would cower in her den waiting for the outcome of the fight to be declared to the world. It wasn’t that she didn’t have faith in her mother’s ability, but she wasn’t going to sit idly by in this world anymore and simply wait. Patience had never been her virtue, and that had not changed as she flourished into a beautiful young wolf. With her age she had inherited all of her mother’s poise and regality coupled with natural grace and beauty that was apparent simply in the way she walked as she followed her mother’s trail. The morning after there was no hurry in her stride as she made her way to the mountains; her mother had left with enough time to sleep on the outskirts of Spirane overnight, no doubt to be well rested in the morning when she issued her challenge so her daughter knew she had plenty of time.

Things had changed so drastically, time moving them all along weather they liked it or not and they hadn’t left the young girl alone either. Gone were the days where she could bask simply in her vanity, for what had her looks ever achieved for her? Doubtless they would have their uses as she grew older, and for a moment her mind turned to the dark boy Erebos whom she had met in the valley last season. She shook her delicate crown, for today was not the day for distractions as she neared the foot of the mountains just as the call went up.

For a moment heart jumped into her throat and she stopped with one slender paw hanging in the air before she loped forward, crossing the mountain’s boarders with little care as to the foreign scent that labeled it theirs until she could hear the sounds of the fight ringing through the pines. Snarls, cries, the sounds of bodies clashing and claws scraping on the leaves that littered the ground all reached her dark ears. She didn’t make to approach, she didn’t want to cause a distraction she simply closed her mahogany eyes and listed to a fight first hand for the first time. To be honest she had dreamt of this day, herself in her mother’s paws challenging the one who had taken Spirane from them, but that wasn’t Tithe was it? Roman was the one she had yearned to feel squirm beneath her teeth, but he had been voted out by the very inhabitants of the mountain themselves. What did that make Tithe?

It lasted only minutes, but as the sounds reverberated in her head time seemed to slow until finally silence fell broken only by her mother’s call of victory. She breathed a sigh of relief, moon-rimmed eyes opening finally as she padded forward silently just in time to see their final exchange, though the words did not make it to her ears before they strode their separate ways; Daenerys up the mountain and Tithe down. Silently she watched her mother’s back until she disappeared within the trees before following Tithe at a distance until he crossed the boarders that still carried his scent. She had known him as a wise councilor, as a friend even, but she did not know the man that left the mountains.

She lingered there a while, watching his retreating form even as her mother’s summons rang upon the mountainside until he was nothing more than a blur on the horizon. She was proud of her mother, strong and fierce as ever proven once more that none could ever truly take their home from the Mountainborne, someone she longed to be one day, but she was finding it hard to find joy in Tithe’s downfall.

Finally she turned, making her way up the familiar mountain paths to the place she knew her mother would be waiting with those who had answered her call. Entering the clearing her bright eyes danced around the gathering, happy to see so many familiar faces though a smile only broke across her black muzzle at the sight of her brothers. Quickly she sauntered over, stopping to lick her mother’s chin in congratulations. Words were not necessary to voice the pride she felt as her worries regarding battle fading away before she made her way toward her brothers in their usual grouping. Uncerimoniously she barged into the middle of them, biting at Drogon’s ear though she had to reach to do so, bumping Viserion’s nose with her own and licking Rhaegal’s cheek before she settled in beside her gray brother. “It’s about time,” she said finally, though the words were more to herself than anyone else.
