The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

Mihr
Just think of happy things and your heart will fly on wings
One ~ Him to Love ~ Her to Hurt ~ Angel of Diveen ~ 30” ~ 120 lbs
Son of Neveah & Orion, littermate of Kafziel, brother to Orifel, Jaeger, Hyrule, and Nineveh

Mihr let out another sigh and watched at the butterfly flew off the flower it had been resting one. Pink eyes gazed at it lazily as it fluttered away to rest on a nearby tree. Well this was boring. Life had been such for several months and the poor puppy had no way to stop it. His parents were busy doing… whatever it is they did in the pack. Kafziel wanted to be an adult and was adulting somewhere else at the moment, though it was rare for the two siblings to be apart. And so, the young angel was left alone. Yawning for the third time in only a few minutes, the dark wolf rolled over onto his back and stretched his paws up high. At only a year old, Mihr had never travelled far from his badlands home. He had ventured into a few neighboring packs, but never into the freeland. Mom had often told him it was dangerous, but really… how bad could it be? And he wouldn’t go too far, right? With his mind made up, the bright eyed pup rolled back over and galloped towards an adventure.

How far was too far exactly? The journey had begun barely before noon, and yet he had only just reached the grotto as the sun was starting to set. Mother and father would be worried, but Mihr didn’t think about that now. He would deal with their punishment later. For now, he trotted up to the complex cave system, excited to see what the day’s travels would reward him with. The scent of another wolf reached his nose and he bent down to sniff heavily from the hard ground. Sweetly sick. That was how he described the smell. Just like the moors! An Iromarian! With a way of his tail, Mihr pranced around the area a bit, trying to find the other wolf. The packs were allies which mean that the other was a friend. It wasn’t until a shimmering light caught his eye that he stopped and peered into the depths of one of the tunnels.

The rainbows dancing on the cave walls seemed to call out to the child. The bright reds, chilling blues, vibrant yellows, and every color in-between. They seemed to speak to him in a language he didn’t quite understand yet. Carefully, he moved to stand under them, unaware that the other wolf he had been so actively searching for was resting only a few feet away. It wasn’t until Mihr turned around that he gave a surprised bark at the sight of the other. Heart beating wildly in shock, he took a moment to calm before offering a gentle smile that shone brightly in his pink eyes. "Hello! I thought I smelled another wolf around here. My name is Mihr, I’m from Diveen. Who are you?" It never occurred to him that he may be interrupting something important.

Sitting on his haunches and curling his tail around his paws, the dark angel waited with his head cocked to the side for the other wolf to speak. All the while, a strange and unexpected thought came to his young mind. This other wolf was kinda cute.
