Change seemed to settle upon the world once more, change that soon hopefully would settle to peace. Things never remained peaceful for too long it felt. Least not since he was a very young child. Four years felt like a long time but really the brute was still young. His slate form moved easily over the bank of the river gaze looking to the slow moving current keeping his attention for the time being. He thought about all the changes he had seen in his life, how all the packs and their politics changed with them with each one.
It made things so difficult to do good without insulting one pack, or showing another that a bond of trust wasn’t being broken. Too difficult, too complicated. That was why he had chosen this life of being a wanderer for the rest of his time. Truly though Ame wasn’t alone. Not far he was certain Jackson was doing his own thing, hunting for himself or simply walking through the woods. Together they were always wandering together looking to do something good or do some kind of adventure. While Ame had only done a good thing here or there but he hoped to do more now that he was fully grown and stronger than he had been when he was a child.
There was always something going on, always. He would make sure that those who wouldn’t be protected would get help. Even things such as injured prey. Balance was important after all and Ame hoped he could help maintain it best he could. He himself hadn’t been doing much since his encounter with Dragonfly. The girl was nice, she told him about her group, how they were deciding how best to organize himself. He hoped his words helped her after all being a loner was about being free. He wondered how she was doing. It had been several months now and he can’t say he wasn’t curious about her well being after the winter. Surely she was fine, she wasn’t alone just like he wasn’t.
Wading into the stream the slate brute allowed his tail to flick lightly out behind him, thinking about a mirad of things. His family, his old pack and Halcyon too. Word reached him that he had been given Iromar… Soon Ame would have to pay a visit to his old friend and see how such a thing happened. He had been elite guard last he heard, perhaps something more had happened over this time. Later he would for sure, but for now relaxing and cooling his tired paws seemed a good idea.
