Something was wrong. So desperately wrong. He scowled at her. His face had never had that expression when he looked at her. When he had been tied to Neverland and she had returned to his side while bound to Los, he had never so much as frowned in her general direction. Now he looked at her as if she were nothing to him and her words seemed to have hit him.
All her joy vanished with a single look, a single growl, and what appeared to be a blow to his being. She whined softly and lowered her body to the ground, her tail still swaying in the air. She hoped he was just playing, sent her desire to the divines that seemed to love to play with their fates. She looked up at him, unable to stop the love that poured from her. She hoped beyond hope he was playing. But his voice choked her. This was not her lover, not the prince she had fallen in love with. But it was him, she knew it was him. She needed him.
Unable to accept the truth that was staring down at her with lavender eyes. She danced around him, jumping lightly to and away from him, her tail wagging faster in her mad hope.
