aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

'very funny Vlad…'Vladimir's Pride nearly came back just then - a need to be right swelling up from his core. He only wanted the best for those around him... But he wanted to lead them as well. And a leader was never wrong, right? For how could pack members ever trust a King who made mistakes? Vladimir was too young to realize just how backward his thinking was, but he was a perfectionist at heart, and with the clear ack of trust and confidence in him that was exuded from Castiel's tone, Vladimir felt hurt oozing from his pores. His maw opened to spit out a retort, but instead something else fell out - a cough. For just when he was about to start laying into his brother, soft hairs melded with his, and the gentle pressure of Seraphina rubbing against him indented his skin. For whatever reason, she defused the bomb f anger, confusion, and doubt that had been about to explode, and instead made him see reason. 'How far are we going to go, Vlad?' This time there was no taunt, just a simple, clear question. Vladimir turned his head first one way, then the other, his pupils as dilated as possible as he searched for a light source... But found none. Though his plan was a solid one, it had flaws.

'We… we shouldn’t go too far. Just in case.' As if to emphasize the Princess' concerns, Vladimir's stomach rumbled and he laughed. And with that, the spell of terror that the cavern had exuded over the trio dispersed. High pitched laughter, full of joy and amusement now rumbled over the cavern walls around them, breaking the utter silence and Vladimir turned right, without a second thought. The small haze of light that made its way through the cavern's opening became larger and larger as they neared it, and Vladimir turned back, his steely eyes now bright, marked by raised brows. "Our adventure of the Pitch Black Cave will have to written another day, guys, I'm hungry!" He released their tails, first his brother's, then Seraphina's, not knowing why he had felt a pull of regret when he had done so. He swiftly shook his head to dislodge any stupid notions from his head, before scurrying to the edge of the cavern and hunkering down behind its lip. The cool, dry stone was so much more comforting than the moist, damp walls of the abyss had been, but he leaned against these now not to get his bearings, but instead to hide from the demons outside. "We should come back here again sometime... But for now we have the same problem we started with - the demons. Now, I don't see any, but that sure doesn't mean they aren't there! They may be gone, but let's be quiet, nonetheless."

Hugging the wall, Vladimir cautiously tilted his head around the bend of the cavern... But the coast was clear. In fact, there were no footprints at all, not even any left by them - for a storm had wicked up, and strong gusts had cleaned their prints. Vladimir blinked his lids a few times, wetting his eyes after the wind dried them so quickly. And now he could smell it, whereas before the sharp scent had been hidden beneath the musk of the caves. But it was clearly there now, not only in his nares, but dancing across his flesh - sparks of electricity. The smell of a storm. And it was going to be a bad one... Perhaps...

"Since they lost us, I think they are letting loose their hounds! We have to get home... I can hear them coming now!" A rumble of thunder sounded in the distance and Vladimir turned once to grin wildly at them before taking off again, this time at a steady trot. Until the storm.. No... The hell hounds!... Were upon their heels, there would be no reason to rush. Indeed, there was no sign of the demons, so at least that was a plus. But Vladimir did not want the game to end just yet - he wanted it to play on as long as possible. And so as the storm neared, chasing them up the coast, he urged them on faster and faster... And then the drips of rain started to fall upon them, slowly at first, in great big gobs of liquid. "Eww!" Vladimir paused long enough to shake out his pelt. "Hound slobber!"
