Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

Cenmatl

She seemed contented, or at least he felt she was contented? Something to that affect. He really wasn’t sure what was going on but the more he was around her, the stronger the feelings were becoming. He knew they were imprints but when his grandfather said that the bonds could be quite strong Cenmatl didn’t realize that he meant he could feel her feelings. It made him feel incredibly bad for hurting them. He was already an empathetic wolf to begin with, but actually experiencing what she was feeling was on an entirely new level of empathy. She stood up and circled around him, Cenna sat very still during such a moment watching her with his pupiless green and galaxy like eyes while she did so. His ears twitched slightly once she seemed to be contented that, he guessed, he told her the truth of where he was from. Why would he lie? He wondered if she could feel his emotions as she did? Or was he simply crazy? Regardless she seemed to be happier now, moving around to face him before staring at him with such an intense gaze he could see it despite the darkness.

She repeated the Nahuatl word, confused surely, but also somewhat impassive to his nicknaming of her. A rather impish look crossed her features then as he asked exactly what her name was, but he could tell that she was feeling a lot happier and perhaps a bit more… playful? He blinked a bit confused by it all as she began to give a large list of names she was apparently called and most of them were not exactly good names. Probably accurate ones though given her nature and how she had acted in their last encounter. Finally though at the end of the list someone she called ‘Big Wolf’ called her Pine. Probably the only thing he guessed could be a name? But it was a strange name even if it was her name. But it seemed she was mostly just called… Flea?

He was a bit… stunned. His grandfather gave it considerable thought on what to name him when he had found him. He looked him over and pondered Cenmatl’s origins, tried to find his home and birth name before finally deciding to name him. Fathom. That was what his name meant in normal language at least. But his grandfather said that he looked like someone he knew and she had that name, not to mention his eyes that looked like galaxies. Matini thought it was meant as a slight jest was probably the closest thing to a ‘name’ Cenmatl had for her now….

”Matini means, spirited one, in my grandfather’s original language… Nahuatl, It’s also the origins of my name too.” He informed her but he doubted she would be all that interested in his life and origins. He was far more curious about her past and anything else she had to offer. Her energy was unbelievable as was her rather salient nature... The boy looked at her as she sniffed the ground around him. Something told him she wouldn’t believe him if he said it but he told her the truth anyway.

”I was looking for you.”

Did he really need to say much more? It was the truth he let those words hang in the air for a moment before saying, ”I thought I remembered you saying you were from Iromar and I followed… the feeling.” So that was a strange thing to say no doubt but still it was all the truth. ”Did you feel it too? Is that why you are here?”
