RUAIRIDH
”Jings!” the stallion with the spotted rump cried, throwing up his broad head in surprise.
He spotted her from a distance, the bay mare with the rather rotund looking belly that had just distracted him from his dinner by shouting for attention. He was pretty positive it wasn’t his attention she craved, but this was the first horse he’d spotted on the island since arriving and maybe she could help him out.
“Hey!” he called, short legs picking up a surprisingly speedy and ground covering trot, “Hey lady!”
Ruairidh was a portly little thing, his breeding dictating that he should thrive on thin air and not much else – which wasn’t much use when he was also a greedy little creature. It had not even been 24 hours since he had washed up on Atlantis and he’d already gorged himself on much of the lush, tropical vegetation that the ridge had to offer. Unfortunately though, since he did not, in fact, live on thin air, his sides were not far off resembling the tall bay mare who obviously had a better reason for being so fat. While he wouldn’t broach that particular subject with her, he was pretty sure he and his food baby could out run her and her actual baby if push came to shove.
He slowed up and halted when he reached her. “Like pet?” He greeted, not really expecting or wanting an answer while huffing to regain his breath. Although it was certainly mild by Atlantis’ standards, it was still too warm and humid for Ruairidh and his thick, winter coat (despite the melting snow!). His bushy, and somewhat frizzy, double mane obscured part of his view, but he still liked to think he’d see a kick coming his way if she sent one. “Dinnae suppose you cud tail me whar this is? Ah doot am a muckle lost.” He laughed, giving that same fluffy coat a shake out. Hopefully she was friendly.
