News 08.08.2021
Change was long overdue in Spirane. Now that I have learned who is still an active presence within the pack, the ranks have been updated. As I once took time away from the pack, so too now shall Kalseru. Know that she is still second in command of the pack, as is reflected in her rank. Once you are familiar with the new ranking system, if you would like to change positions or move up in the ranks you need only ask. Let this be a time of new life in Spirane, and a promise of great things to come!

When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies, but the pack survives.

She had only ever seen one other with a companion such as Moonfeather's own and that had been eons ago it seemed. Moonglow had been famed for her companion in a way, or at least it had always made others curious though Niviaq had never known another to ask about it. It seemed much the case for Moonfeather too, her companion simply accepted as part of their everyday life, no more strange than any other occurrence. Perhaps that was more curious than the bird's presence - what made it so accepted? Had it been more a part of Moonfeather's blood than she knew? She wondered then, briefly as it were, why Daenerys had never found herself a companion in such a way. Perhaps, she supposed, it took a certain kind of wolf to make such a connection. Daenerys simply found those connections elsewhere. At least, that had been Niviaq's understanding of things though truly, it was more a theory than anything else.

In any case, the bird seemed to be content with the company at hand. Out of respect, though she did not know if the creature understood, she gave him a small dip of her muzzle and a wave of her tail, a greeting all the same. At least Moonfeather seemed to enjoy the sentiment and for that, Niviaq was pleased. She needed a successor, or at least others needed one, and she was pleased to have met Moonfeather at just the right time. Sila was, by all means, Niviaq's pool of knowledge and yet, the girl had not been entirely free from Pan's roaming blood or Niviaq's own humbleness. Though she would surely rise in ranks, Niviaq needed another. Spirane needed another. Already, she believed Moonfeather might just be that wolf.

It seemed that Moonfeather had brought a question with her though, her words bringing a gentle tilt to Niviaq's head - a dream? She nodded, urging the girl to go on as curiosity began to ebb within her own blood. Dreams were, after all, both a blessing and a curse. She hoped this dream had been a blessing, hoped that the child had not yet seen enough to be cursed with those otherwise. She practically sighed in relief when Moonfeather began to recount the tale, one that seemed more awe-inspiring than terrible.

When she had finished her tale, Niviaq had fallen in contemplative silence, her brows furrowed as she hmm'd beneath her breath for a moment. Though Moonglow and she had never been close, Niviaq had known the woman to be quite elusive, her place of hiding apparently well hidden enough to be kept a secret from her own pack. Such a place, she pondered, could it have been? Spirane's peaks remained cold even in the heat of summer, its slopes prone to ice cold winds and flurries despite the seasons. The thought made her expression break, a twitch of a smile as she met Moonfeather's eyes once more. "I believe she might want to know you just as much," she grinned with the slightest of winks, a glance given to Kutcha once more, "I have always wondered why your companion reminds me of Orba so much - it is an air about them, I believe. Perhaps if you ask, he will find this place for you?"

Of all the creatures in the world, birds had the most freedom, did they not? They could soar for days, higher and higher than any mountain peak or cloud. If there were secrets, she believed he would be the one to find them. And Moonfeather? Well, she had not been given such a connection for no reason. "Moonglow was a wolf unlike any other, I believe. It would not surprise me if she, of all the wolves in Moladion, knew of a place so strange and lovely." She did not know if such a place existed and yet, she hoped so. She hoped for Moonfeather's sake.
