Her first summer was proving to be an overly harsh one and her insatiable demands of her body to wander drew her once again away from Thoth. She would always return but even she found it difficult to defy what her mind demands of her. The warm morning rays seeping into the black of her pelt. Perhaps it would have been easier on her if her throat and belly weren't covered so thickly like a mane she could make more distance without overheating as much.
Opalescent eyes covered the horizon Sekhmet knew all too well that the at the sun's peak of noon she would need to recover her strength and cool down. She was hardly ill prepared should one seek her out as a target yet part of her own mind yearned to sink her teeth into the soft flesh of another. Even so, she wouldn’t allow herself to be caught winded and on the brink of hearing exhaustion.
Sekhmet passed up her usual trip to the valley she would seek out her mother some other time, for now, the shade of the trees would be her company as she sets out towards the grotto. The shade comes to an end and the fields open to her as she looked ever curiously before making a bound over the stretch of land before slowing to a trot. Her tongue lolled out from between her jaws she hated this heat. It was a reward plunging her muzzle into the cool waters of the field drinking for a bit before diving into the waters depths. Nothing had felt so refreshing to her skin as the water seeped deep within her fur. She wasn’t without purpose, though; she rested in the shade on the little island in the lakes center before diving back in and making her way to the most southern bank.
The sun had made its way high in the sky; it plunged the earth into a wretched place to tread. Her movements were swift as she disappeared into the entrance of the grotto. She wandered further into the chasm her eyes most visible as she lay against the cool stone being lulled into a peaceful rest as the world laid silent around her; only the water flow coming through the cave system was meant to be heard.
