The world indeed was a cruel place. Within this world there are good and bad. There are wolves that fight one another, sometimes for something important like more food, an intended mate from a competitor, family from danger, or defeat a challenger that dares to take ones territory. It is the one of the most constant thing in one’s life, to struggle. It is only natural and it is something that will never ever end. You can either be the cowering always submissive weakling, bowing to all and having nothing. Is that the kind of life anyone would want to live? No- Not all. Not everyone can be an Alpha, not everyone can be the best at everything. The Monster did not see herself as that at all. However, the aging she-wolf believed that everyone can be an adaptable to the challenge that comes their way or be strong with the adversity that stands in their way. Weakness would not be tolerated, it was an aging old mantra and one that she would instill into this feeble pup between her ashen paws. The question was – how. A gravel voice tumbled out slowly, as her maw gently brushed against the pup’s ear, whispering ever so softly.
“Even the fiercest of warriors can be small. I was smaller than you and yet look how I turned out.”
Gently her muzzle would press into the child’s side in a surprisingly gentle manner. Slowly her ebony dial would lift upwards, dark sapphire eyes looking down upon the child, holding a shimmer of mirth. Not everyone was given the chance to see the Monster in a playful mood. Why not give the young a chance to see that what they are now isn’t all that they will become. Numerous factors played into the Monster’s life to mold and shape her into what she was today, and the same would happen to the pup before her. The only difference is just what sort of factors would push and prod the young she-wolf to become some grand...to become a strong she-wolf of the fields. The Monster could see the potential within her, why is it, that she could not see it in herself? Proudly and encouragingly, Tick Tock speaks once more, looking down upon the child, eyes holding an odd light of kindness.
“You are the wolf of the fields, no one within this pack will harm you, but there are wolves out from our home that would. That is why you need to learn how to be strong and fight back.”
