PRIME MINISTER'S DECREE

"None." - Leader

The Offspring

Diccon (Cicada x Khar'pern)

Rules

• The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Peak works on the Rules page.

rend the flesh from bone

Summer had settled quickly on the islands, the weeks traveling from the ridge, to the slopes of paradise, and now across to the peak had ushered in the changes and with it growth within Lillith’s youngest child. Lillith couldn’t say she didn’t enjoy the change, as her first few months on the islands she had been more of the nomadic type versus the one to settle within a herd. However with a child at her side Lillith knew it would be foolish to be caught without a home. A territory was there to give reassurance and a sense of safety. Certainly there had been that exact feeling within the ridge, however with Vodnik’s disappearance Macabre and Lillith had fled, taking chances with the new ruler not something they wished to discover.

With these passing weeks Lluvia’s quiet intensity only increased, and in so many way’s Lillith saw her mother in this child more so than any of her prior children. The pale eyes, the way she observed, and mostly the way she did not play as other children did. Sure, she would move into a trot and bump Macabre or Lillith with a nudge here and there but she didn’t seem to want to engage further, rather she would hover and listen to their conversations, and a few times Lillith had watched from a distance as her daughter would eavesdrop on others as well. It was strange, perhaps slightly unnerving, but no harm had come of this observant behavior.

Lillith pulled along-side Macabre as they entered the peak, the scents were low in this territory, stale as though activity had been low. Lillith wouldn’t be here if the slender chestnut mare hadn’t brought it forward as a possibility, if she hadn’t been so sure that this was the place to be. “It’s quiet.” With this observation Lillith’s eyes flicked over to Macabre, no accusations in her glance, just an observation. Lluvia moved past the two mares a few feet, her small tail lifted slightly in the warm breeze and her ears flicked trying to catch some sound other than the breathing of the two mares. With nostrils flared she was displaying motions she had seen both her mother and… honorary aunt display in their travels.

With a small snort she turned with a trot to settle back in at her mother’s side, sidling close to the dark bay skin. Lillith’s own tail continued to swish and brush away the flies that landed on her flesh, doing what she could to cover her daughter as well. “You know these mares well?” Lillith addresses to Macabre again, curious to know what the chestnut mare can tell her about the other women on these mountains.
