Her flickering smile was brief and confusing at best. She was still young and still so small, nothing about her had get to truly take hold. Save her fear. Her fear that she had been the cause of this and that it would bring shame to the wolfess who now greeted her so kindly. She was glad to see she was safe. The words and the sentiment behind them washed over Pariah and made her weak in the knees. She let down the mask that would have been Mirage and let herself be who she was. A soft whimper came from her lips and she lowered herself to the ground.
It was all my fault! I am so sorry! Her words spilled from her lips in a flurry. Red eyes were wide and her breathing heavy. I tried to be someone different. I tried to be something different, and it failed. The snowstorm hit, I almost killed a boy, and then the fires started! Her little body shook. How can I be different when it is still just me, and still the same result? The poor pup felt lost once again, looking back up at the only one who had ever been there to give her guidance. Her eyes plead silently for help. The last time they had been together Malina had told her she could be something more than what she was. It had stirred an ambition and a wish for something greater than herself. It had given her a dream. A dream that had been snowed and burned out. Pariah tried to calm herself, though her body still shook. She tried to put on a face that showed she could be strong. Taking a deep breath, slowly she calmed the shaking and looked up at her teacher. Tell me what to do. I don’t want to kill, but… it just happens. Malina had taken a thief and told her she could be a collector of secrets. Now she asked as a murderer how she could avoid bringing death. She was ready for a lesson and needed to know where she could go from here.
to love me...
