He had heard things about Asteraia and its inhabitants, naturally. But he held no grudges against them, especially seeing as the wolves who had ruled Diveen before him had trusted their leader enough to form an alliance. Orion knew that it was simply the nature of these wolves, cannibals or otherwise strange, and they could not change that. He could not condone it, but he could not, conversely, condemn it. And so when the Monster of Asteraia had called upon him for a chat he had accepted readily. There was no fear in his heart as he approached the plains, the neighboring pack and its inhabitants did not frighten him. Perhaps that was simple naivety or good nature, but the male did not think that this visit would be anything less than cordial.
The wolf believed that he had met the Monster quite a long time ago, now but a distant memory in his mind- when he had first arrived in Moladion and had decided to try and brave his way through the swamps. Orion chuckled to himself. So many things had happened over the years and he was no longer that apprehensive and unsure boy that he had been. His life so far had shaped and molded him enough that he was able to take on the mantle of alpha now. Back then, he didn't think he could have imagined it.
He made his way through Diveen, until the plateaus mellowed and began to grow grassy, the sharp corners and dusty rock giving way to fields of rolling green. His breath fogged in the early morning chill, the scent of snow on the air with clouds gathering on the horizon. Orion had wanted to pay the Monster a visit early, the scarred wolf with no name, as he did not wish to spend too much time away from the pack when his rule was still in its early stages. However, he also realized that forming these alliances now would help him, and the pack, later.
Orion's yellow eyes gazed out over the plains, his paws coming to a stop on the border. His head tilted back and he let out a howl, calling for the strange wolf who guided her even stranger pack. After his call was done, his body relaxed. Although he was alert for any sign of approach, he wasn't tense or guarded. He was meeting the Monster as an equal, and there was no reason, as far as he could see, to be afraid.
