Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

Movement again! Odd eyes watch from a distance as Blackthorne sinks down into the snow so his obsidian belly brushes it. He stays like that for a moment, crouched while his mind makes sense of the small creature before him. She flits about as if in a frenzy, sniffing here then there all the while keeping her head pressed to the ground. Her movements are jagged and like a cat they draw Thorne's attention, making his haunches twitch with the need to pounce. Slowly the top silver lip pulls back to reveal one glistening fang and then Blackthorne begins to stalk his prey. She is oblivious in her search. There are little scents that dot the surrounding land so he has no clue what she is looking for, has no idea she is out simply to stretch her legs and forget what drives her.

What drives him is motion. The clenching and coiling of muscle. The impact or body against body, the triumph of pain and exerting dominance.

So as he creeps closer it is no wonder that he gathers the half silver back paws beneath him and launches himself up. He slams into minuscule form with considerable pressure, possibly bruising her ribs as she lands beneath him in a thick snowdrift. His weight pressed her in and he jerks upright so that his right foreleg is to the side of her and his left is pressing down into her chest. Then he attacks, snarls ripping into the air as he bites at her legs, seeking to disable her tiny paws. Because once she got out from beneath him she would be a bullet and he would have to cleverly position himself if he wanted to get ahold of her again.
