A deep glare was cast over the frozen landscape it was unlike many others she sank into the crunchy snow into a much softer mixture. It wasn’t pleasurable but was maneuverable for the wall of muscle, still, it was something she could do. It was the lack of company and a strange scent on the breeze that brings her to leave the cushy confines of this den. She knew trekking through the snow and ice covered grasslands would take time so she settled in for a walk knowing that it was a waste of energy to rush to find her companion and the pup he took on.
It was rare she could take the time to watch the pair of them for she was still a very active wolf on her lone ventures. It was the strange scent that called to her most and she was ever cautious taking a slow approach to the creature laying on its side. A pronghorn was a large and very dead best. She investigated closer leaving the cause of its death simply age or perhaps even the elements. Silently she stalked forward giving it a bit of a prod before digging into the frozen belly. It was perhaps not the best of meals but it was a gift she didn’t take lightly either. She managed to eat her fill but didn’t leave before ripping a meaty leg off of the kill. She was strong but even she couldn’t drag that creature back to the den.
Without hesitation, she cleaned herself with the snow before picking up the severed end of the limb, unwilling to leave a trail of blood for caution's sake at least. She followed the trails of her companion and the pup her mind no longer paying heed to the fact she was dragging this limb or rather becoming numb to it. She wished they would stay put in these moments for she was growing annoyed with her searching it wasn't long until she came to a place their scent was freshest and her paced quickened to a jog in hopes of catching up to the pair and the elements seemed so against her.
Opalescent eyes spotted the pair and glared at them. Why had they been sitting out in the icy weather? She snarled stalking forward working to unhinge her now sore jaws from the pronghorn's limb before tossing it onto the ground. It landed close to their paws and she growled baring her teeth at them.
