Paws crunched lightly on the icy surfaces she crossed. Her body was not full grown and her paws still slightly too big for her limbs and she was easily able to snowshoe over the crust the ice storms had formed. Her body had recovered from the blows it had received the winter before, though her soul and mind had not. Veli was still missing, and her father seemed to have lost himself. She knew of the promise Samhain had made Zeltzin, though she did not know if at this time he had broken it. So instead, her heart yearned to be near her father again, just to feel the blood connection and bringing it back to her faded spirit.
Sosltice stopped at the border of Asteraia, knowing full well the consequences of entering another territory without permission. She whined at the crossing, sinking her body down before barking her presence, who she was, and why she was here into the air. With another whine she stepped forward, her nose to the ground.
Some scents remained strong in the rolling fields. Thoth’s presence was thick as the snow beneath her feet and blanketed the terrain. Her coat shivered at the thought. Her half brother had attacked her, and possibly killed her small soul companion. Once she found trails that would lead directly to him, she turned the other way, still trying to find any sign of her family she did not know. Once she froze at a different presence she recognized. A faint trace of a girl she had met before. Setting aside her instant desire to follow that trail she instead sought any sense of Samhain until at last she came across a young pup who not only smelled of her father, but had a strong sense of him, as though part of his soul was a part of her.
A small yip of greeting and a gentle wag of her tail and Solstice stepped forward. She looked down at the wolf she had found. The fire and life of her was different but so similar to her family, Solstice could not help but smile, though she did not know why. She was not sure the pup was connected, but there was always a way to find out.
Hello, I am looking for my father, Samhain. Do you know him?
