Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

Her green eyes were narrow and poignant as she took in the sight of the wolf. They slide over his frame, inspecting him from head to toe before she would say a word. She made a point of erecting her full and fluffed tail, asserting herself from the get go. His accent was interesting, and she immediately knew that he also was not born in this land, but came from the lands northward as she had. They were from two different regions all together still, but somehow it endeared him to her a bit, especially since he'd practically taken her meal right out of her clutches. She padded a few steps forward with confidence to take in his scent. Of course, he had been upwind of her, just as she had been of the rabbit. She slowly circled him, continuing her inspection, watching him closely.

If her silence discomforted him, she made no indication that she noticed, and she certainly didn’t care. He was tall, as was she, which was a relief. Not that she minded being tall. In fact, she took great pride in it but grew tiresome of both figuratively and literally looking down at others all the time. He was heavier than she but showed no signs of aggression. Nevertheless, she made sure to stay clear of his immediate reach. The same russet and red colors of her own pelt wove themselves through his tan fur, though the shades were duller than her own. Most striking were the bright red orbs, which were more up to her speed as far as coloration went.

As she reached his front end once more, her posture relaxed. Apparently, he’d passed her examination.

“An apology won’t fill my belly,” she said in harsh but cool tones, her consonants clipped and precise. While her words were candid, her expression was still unrelentingly emotionless, perhaps snobbish at best. It was simply the truth that she spoke without adding the weight of emotion to it. It was fortunate that the stranger had found her to be in a more patient mood.

“If you were truly sorry,” she continued, a little ire creeping into her voice as her belly reminded her that she had not eaten that day, “You would assist me in finding food.”

With one final flat look, she turned on heel, trotting towards the deeper part forest in search of new query. Though still young, only at the start of full adulthood, she did not consider herself a naïve or jejune creature. She did not expect the young male wolf, younger than her even, to make retribution. However, only several feet away from him, she found herself pausing to look back expectantly, her eyes demanding, daring him to follow her.
