The light was glorious. A lambent glow that made her skin feel like she was back in Litherum. Oh yes. She knew the packland was not called the ocean pack, that was Glorall. But to her, as long as she could see the ocean, be near it, her heart would be at peace. Her eyes slipped shut as she let the sun warm her skin. Steps were heard, and she held still, waiting until the wind blew her way, bringing with it the familiar smell of Panzer. A slow, warm smile fell across her lips. She was still unsure what had made her feel so comfortable with him, but she wasn’t about to judge it, but rather, bask in feeling at ease, for once in so, so long.
He spoke, and her eyes opened, galaxy gaze watching his sunburst eyes catching her view. He spoke of the stars at night, matching her eyes and she felt a flutter, only to listen when he spoke. She dipped her head slightly as he welcomed her into the land. Watching then as he dropped down, she grinned, a slight laugh escaping from her lips as she watched him. She couldn’t believe she was finally happy, and part of her wondered when it would go wrong. She knew she had to remain optimistic, but she couldn’t help it.
He challenged her to a race, to her ocean, and she barked out a laugh. Her small frame lowering to the ground as he took off, and she sprung, her joints protesting at first, but began to relax as she took off in a run, her small frame running alongside his, brushing against him before she went a little faster. Her small size made it easy to run faster than pretty much anyone, and she let her nose guide her towards the ocean. She would look back over her shoulder to see how close he was. She found herself heading to the cliff-like edge. Her small frame skidded to a stop. The waters edge was a few meters below them, and the waves were crashing against the rocks. A grin fell across her face, goofy and at ease, she let the salt water spray wash over her face. “It feels like home, Panzer. It really does.” She looked over her shoulder at him, her eyes lit up, from both the sunlight that was bearing down on them, but from the freedom she felt to have a home. At last.
