Viserys listened to the conversations of his mate and his children, his family, those he held so tenderly next to his heart. There was a compelling instinctual urge to bare his teeth at anything that should threaten them, even though his mind told him to do otherwise and it was a terrible dichotomy at times. Usually he was able to separate his more primal emotions from his conscious ones, but in the heat of the moment he doubted that he would use his mouth to talk. It was hard for him to come to terms with this, if only because pacifism was such a central point in his philosophy. He supposed that there had been a shift in his ideals when his children had been born, perhaps even when he had gotten closer to Ankh. Each life held equal value, but their lives were more important to him.
Tikal's question brought him out of his reverie, and he looked at her with a grin. "Some are made for leadership. I am not, but Halcyon is... I suppose it still makes you royalty, though." His teal eyes twinkled and he moved to brush the top of her head with his nose. His attention turned to his brother, though, as the younger male loped towards them. With a wag of his tail he wrapped his neck around Halcyon in a short embrace. Despite everything that had happened and the wandering nature of their siblings, the two had always been close. Viserys enjoyed lending wisdom to his brother and oftentimes the reddish male could offer a unique perspective of his own. Their respective lives had been difficult in different, yet entirely relatable ways. It seemed now though that things were finally working out.
"Welcome home, indeed. Congratulations, Halcyon. It is good to be back." Viserys grinned, watching and listening as Halcyon turned his attention to his family. He didn't think that his brother had ever met Ankh and he certainly hadn't met his children yet, and he was glad that he could meet them at such a joyous and celebratory time. He waited a moment for everyone to make acquaintance, another grin stretching across his features, something he couldn't seem to hold back.
After they had finished Halcyon addressed him once more, this time with a question about their other family members. His grin faltered for a moment, into a more serious expression although his tone remained lighthearted. "Aurai is staying in Diveen with her imprint, Emil. I have not heard from Isolde or Mugen in some time, although both of their scents drift in and out of Moladion from time to time. It seems wandering runs in the family... perhaps their paws will bring them here one day." Viserys wanted to remain hopeful. He missed the times they had shared here in the plains, the close bond he had shared with his sisters that had weakened with distance and time. Perhaps one day they would all be together again.
