Cuirass could feel the wolf's gaze roaming over his form as if looking for strengths and weaknesses. He knew that he was no little wolf. He had acquired much of his build and strength from his father while owing his speed and cunning to his mother's side. He had truly taken the best of both sides. He was no pushover and he didn't take threats lightly. He still recalled when, as a yearling, the Monster had thought it would be a good idea to have him train by bringing out a cougar for him to spar with. It's one thing to fight off a cougar for survival but to be scored on your ability to fight back without trying to kill or escape? It really gave him a new perspective. He was gangly and awkward at the time, not truly grown into himself and yet he was in the prime of his know-it-all stage. He wanted to be the best and he knew that training with the Monster was where he wanted to be. He just never thought she would use such creative unorthodox ways to train him.

When the male stepped back, Cuirass knew that he had his approval and now it was just down to introductions and where he would fit into this pack. As the male told him to come, Cuirass didn't hesitate to step over the invisible line and walk at the male's side, though allowing him a half stride advantage so he could choose the pace and direction. After all, he knew nothing of the layout of this packland. It seemed that the ground was just as soggy as he thought he would be around a swamp, his nose wrinkling a little in distaste but he watched the other male carefully choose his path and so Cuirass did the same, etiher stepping right in his foot steps or as close as he could get to keep himself from walking somewhere that could end tragically. He would have to get used to this environment if he were to live here but that would come with time and there was plenty of that. Soon enough, he would patrol just as he did in Asteraia, training his endurance while learning all the in's and out's of the land. Soon, he would know Iromar like the back of his paw.

He took in any information the other male was eager to give. He said that the pack was small so Cuirass knew that meant that there was plenty of opportunity to gain the alpha's trust and earn a rank. He could do that; he was sure of it. Look how fast he had moved up under the Monster's care and he was only 2 at the time. He was always ambitious. He blamed both his parents for that trait. There were apparently two methods the alpha gave him for moving up and that would be challenging others or doing tasks for him. Cuirass knew he would do good in either method since he had sparred in the past and while he was away from Moladian. Challenging was just another fun activity for the day and an opportunity to learn something new. He had learned something that day when he sparred with the cougar while the Monster kept tabs. He had learned to create his own fighting style while adapting to the opponent's attacks. He wondered how many of the other pack wolves had tried to win the alpha's confidence or even learn a little bit about him. Cuirass found it of utmost importance to know the wolf you were following. He had grown close to the Monster while she ruled Asteraia. He didn't know her shadow very well but he had told her on his first day that if she couldn't train him, then he would approach Tobias. He always did speak his mind and he chose his own trainer that day. He didn't regret a minute of it. He glanced back at the alpha when asked for his name. He met his gaze evenly.

"CUIRASS."

His head tilted a little, wondering what sort of task the alpha would give him. He was never afraid of a little challenge. In fact, he liked to keep busy.
