Alistair shifted slightly when Zelda appeared stunned by his words, he knew that it was certainly a lot to take in and probably not the news that she had been expecting. Her words only solidified that sentiment. 'That is... Not what I was expecting.' He dipped his head slightly, face settling into something more akin to a grimace, his white eyes both intense and sympathetic. The Goddess had been through a lot, and the male knew that he was only adding to her stress, but he assumed that she would want to know if the floodwaters were rising, rather than be swept away suddenly. Nonetheless, he felt for her. With Hyrule gone, she had to take up the mantle of leader, something she was perhaps not entirely prepared to do, and although Alistair did not know her well he felt a keen desire to assist her. Even if the information was difficult to hear. 'How do you know?'
"First of all, for now, an alliance has been secured with Glorall... Eden was more than willing to solidify that." Alistair let out a small sigh. "There was something that was nagging me about the scents around where Amoxtli was poisoned. My ears may not hear, but the rest of my senses are a bit heightened to make up for that." He was not sure if Zelda would trust his judgement, surely she would want to but he was making a rather serious accusation. "When I visited Glorall, I began to put two and two together. The scent of the stranger, the intruder, I could not place it, but it became clear when I was there. The wolf who poisoned your uncle is a part of Glorall, I am sure of it."
That was the part that he was certain of. His nose rarely betrayed him- without hearing, he had to rely largely on scent to place the locations of those around him, or to find prey. The next thing he would say, however, was far more speculative; it was a hunch that nagged at him but he could not say for certain whether or not it was true. "This is more of a speculation, and for that I apologize. For a reason that I can't be sure of... perhaps it is simple intuition, I believe that Eden himself knows who did it, and has kept their crime a secret."
Alistair felt the need to apologize for such a lofty assertion. Why should Zelda believe him, over an alpha who had been established as an ally? "I did not speak of my suspicions while I was there. I did not want to overstep. I felt as though I should bring the information to you, and let you do with it what you see fit." He dipped his head before his white eyes raised to meet hers briefly before training themselves on her lips, awaiting her response. Interestingly enough, he did not know what to expect.
