Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

There is much to do, right? I mean. Besides this endless forest full of trees there must be something else. I hope. It isn’t possible that I have come the whole way to another place to find that life outside a pack is just fantasy. The story mom told me about brave wolves travelling somewhere to find new hope for their packs must be true in some way. If not, I shall make them true! There must be a first to everything! Including finding the new hope! Who is the weak omega now, Gariel!? Now who is exploring and finding new things and who is too afraid to leave the pack? A small growl couldn’t be contained in my throat as I thought of that wolf in Dhali. She used to make fun of me just because we were omegas, me and my family.

But we are so much more! What is the difference between me and the alphas, even? Just because they tell others what to do? Or hunt? I can learn how to hunt! And give orders? Come on! Who is the dummy who doesn’t know how to do that! I can do much better than that. Ooh if we were trained, I would bite her leg off!

As I am lost in these thoughts a weight pushes on my side and instantly my heart stops as my paws stretch and the perfect curl I was in was broken completely. Something rolls over me and falls just in front of me. A white figure, but I couldn’t just make out what it was as my mind was too busy already telling me it was a white cougar or some big threat. I tried to get up, stumbling and falling in a big gap between another couple of roots and only then getting up to pin my ears back and look at what was there.

After having a lovely stroke I realize that it was another wolf. I look back at him, relieved and instantly composing myself as to not look scared at all and hoping with all my being that he didn’t notice I was…Surprised… At first. He apologizes and I nod my head gently
“That is alright. I was testing a new camouflage technique. You’re not to blame…” I told him.

HA! HA!! Who is the greatest? Huh? Huh? See what I did? See? Two rabbits, one jaw!

Excuse for messy fur, check!

Emphasizing my greatness, check!

“You live around here? I need to find a river…” I asked, looking at him. Then it is at this moment that my belly chooses to make that amazing sound to remind me to eat. My head lowered some in the awkwardness of the situation.

I am never going to achieve that image of an amazing hero and adventurer with these awful things. First the mud pool and now stomach deciding to tell the first stranger I see that I am hungry! Ah! I am indeed, but that is not the point! Perfect timing, body!

Now… There is life outside a pack? Well, now all I have to do is: Find something to do.
