Hunger was deep as it was gnawing. The thought of gnawing on anything made his mouth water and pant with the desire, tongue rolling over the snagged tooth he lost in battle. Golden eyes glittered in the darkness, seeking to fill the need only flesh could fill.
Long lithe body spilled over the dark lands on Moladion. His size had grown too large to fit into other places of the world. His hunger too deep, his needs too great, and his power too strong to allow others of the world to survive. The great panther moved on and moved forward, following the paths and the tales of a place that would finally be able to feed him. Seasons and come and gone and the words became louder. More and more prey became plentiful and soon he found himself in a world of wolves. Large and plentiful. Instinctually he knew he could thrive here.
Silent as the night he invoked, dark and tawny body waited patiently in the lands he had noticed most creatures travelled alone. More often than not he would wait until a beast fell into his traps. But this night was different. An injured not-prey was killed in front of him by another not-prey. The scent of blood and death had the all too familiar effect of rolling hunger and need. They killed and they ate their own. They were food.
The young wolf dragged the corpse away, into a land of long grasses that smelled heavily of ‘new-prey’. Golden eyes followed the young pup and the dead food. To his increasing delight, there was another. Small and threatening. His hunger would finally be sated.
Their words were drowned out by the pulse in his blood. Huge paws slowly brought him forward. Body was crouched low in the long grasses of the fields. The sounds they were making to each other were foreign to him, but their distraction was clear. Pupils slowly widened to take in every detail illuminated by the moonlight. Expert in hunting, the cougar tightened his muscles under his flesh. The swish of the grasses around him the only sounds of warning at alert the wolves as his teeth and fangs sprang towards the larger pale beast.
Take out the bigger, the smaller will be easy to kill.
