Beltran was used to the mountains. His coat had thickened early with the fall weather, typically prepared for the early freezes. This place, it was different. The black male had been on the move for a couple months now. Hunting on his own was marginally successful, causing him to have lost weight. Beltran wasn't sickly skinny, but he definitely looked like he should have more meat on his bones. TThe feel of Encora Woodland was familiar, with its assorted evergreen trees. The smell of spruce this afternoon was moderately comforting as he moved carefully between the trees. His ears remained perked, listening for any potential dangers; his head on a swivel, paying constant mind to the unfamiliar surroundings.

The male stopped suddenly. Scents were starting to mingle in his nostrils. Other wolves passed through here. Beltran's ears laid back momentarily. He was never a socialite, though in his previous home, he did pull his weight for his former pack. In his current, if slightly ragged, state, he did not care to encounter a pack, as not all of his kind were welcoming. Of course, even he wasn't one with the most welcoming demeanor either. His green gaze drifted about for a few more seconds before continuing on. He knew he would need a water source soon. Water meant food, but it also meant potential threats in unfamiliar territory as he sought to survive the coming winter.
